Cultivation Basics, Bloodlines, and FAQs

This chapter serves as a guide to the cultivation system, bloodlines, Su Xiaobai's unique abilities, and various unanswered questions about his power progression.

1. Understanding the Basics of Cultivation

How does cultivation work in this world, and how is it different from other novels?

Many cultivation novels treat Qi circulation vaguely, but in this world, cultivation follows a detailed anatomical structure consisting of:

- Meridians → Absorb and channel Qi from the outside world into the body.

- Dantian → The storage and refinement center for Qi.

- Veins → Circulate Qi-infused blood, enhancing the body and abilities.

- Heart → Governs blood flow, playing a major role in Qi distribution.

Dantian Breakdown:

- Upper Dantian (Forehead): Related to the soul, divine sense, and future abilities.

- Middle Dantian (Core Qi Storage): Main reservoir where Qi is refined and stored.

- Lower Dantian (Essence & Vitality): Governs life force and bloodline-related functions.

Once Qi enters through the meridians, it is refined in the dantian, pumped through the heart, and then flows into the veins, allowing the body to become stronger.

2. Su Xiaobai's Bloodline Abilities & Evolution

Q. Does Su Xiaobai still have the ability to devour bloodlines after all his bloodlines merged into the Void Dragon Bloodline?

A. Yes, he still retains the ability, but instead of merely absorbing them, he completely replaces the target's bloodline, erasing their lineage.

For example, Long Lifen lost her Azure Dragon heritage when he devoured it. However, because Su Xiaobai's current bloodline abilities are already overwhelmingly powerful, he hasn't needed to use this ability recently.

Will he use it again? Yes. A future target is Su Xiaomei, his little sister, whose unique Temporal Ability comes from a mutated bloodline that he intends to take.

Q. If Su Xiaobai and his siblings share the same parents, why do they have different bloodlines?

A. Their mother belongs to a pure-blooded demonic clan that prohibits marrying outside to prevent dilution of their bloodline. However, after she bore children with Su Xiaobai's father, the resulting bloodline mutation created different versions of their inherited abilities.

Each sibling's demonic bloodline mutated uniquely, granting them distinct powers.

Q. How did Su Xiaobai develop both Thunder and Yin veins, and why didn't they change again after he gained the Void Dragon Bloodline?

A. Originally, he had a Yin-based Demonic Devourer Bloodline from his mother and inherited his father's Devouring Abilities.

However, when he touched the Tianlong Spirit Stone a second time, it bestowed upon him the Sky Dragon Serpent Bloodline, altering half of his veins into Thunder veins.

Normally, veins do not change, but the Tianlong Spirit Stone is an upper realm artifact, appearing due to fate's intervention to counterbalance the Hunter infestation on White Cloud Star. This divine artifact had the ability to forcefully alter a cultivator's bloodline and physique if needed.

Later, as Su Xiaobai's various bloodlines merged into the Void Thunder Dragon Bloodline, his veins remained the same because veins exist primarily to synergize bloodlines with the body, not to define them.

Q. Would Su Xiaobai's bloodline still function properly if his veins lacked synergy?

A. Yes. Synergy between veins and bloodlines is preferable but not an absolute necessity. When the Void Dragon Bloodline merged his existing bloodlines together, it could have altered his veins to match its new form. However, it did not, as there was no immediate need for it at that time.

Q. Will his veins change in the future?

A. Yes, but altering veins is a difficult and rare process that cultivators do not usually undergo unless necessary. A bloodline can evolve without requiring a vein transformation, and unless his current veins become a limiting factor, they will likely remain as they are. However, should his power reach a level where his existing veins can no longer sustain him, they will evolve accordingly—but only through an extremely difficult process.

3. Cultivation Techniques & Power Progression

Q. Did Su Xiaobai ever have Astral Veins, or did his veins transform when he started absorbing stellar energy?

A. No, he never had Astral Veins. What he did was temper his veins with Astral Energy, granting them the ability to absorb stellar energy.

This was part of his body refinement process, similar to strengthening muscles through training—his fundamental structure remained the same, but it was enhanced.

If he switched to a different body refinement technique, he would need to untemper his veins and recondition them to absorb a new type of energy.

Q. Why did Su Xiaobai choose the Astral Tyrant Codex for his Qi cultivation instead of any other technique?

A. Cultivation techniques are divided into different types:

- Body Cultivation (Enhances the physical form)

- Qi Cultivation (Refines internal energy)

- Attack Techniques

- Defense Techniques

- Miscellaneous Techniques (Movement, Soul, etc.)

Most cultivators abandon body cultivation as they grow stronger, focusing entirely on Qi cultivation. However, Su Xiaobai follows both paths, and his body technique (Astral Tyrant Codex) was chosen because it synergizes perfectly with his body cultivation technique.

For example, he previously used stellar Qi to refine his body but lacked a specialized Qi technique. When he attempted Sword Intent, he realized that he needed a unique Qi signature to enhance it. Hu Jiao'er guided him toward the Astral Tyrant Codex, which matched his stellar-based cultivation style.

Could he have chosen a Sun-based Qi technique instead? Yes, but it would have caused compatibility issues, making cultivation significantly harder. Right now, both of his main techniques are stellar-based, allowing him to progress efficiently. Changing his Qi technique in the future would require abandoning all previous progress, making it a very long-term decision.

Additionally, his movement technique (Void Steps) does not naturally synergize with his current Qi cultivation, proving that not all techniques must align—though synergy makes progression easier.

4. Su Xiaobai's Race & Future Evolution

Q. Is Su Xiaobai still half-demon, or has he completely transformed into a dragon?

A. As of now, he is still considered half-demon, half-human, even though he possesses the Void Blood Dragon Bloodline. He has not yet fully transformed into a dragon, but after reaching the Earthly Rebirth Realm, he can manifest dragon scales and abilities.

Q. Will Su Xiaobai's race evolve further, and will he always stay a dragon?

A. Yes, his race will undergo multiple evolutions. At one point, he will even become an undead, meaning his transformation is far from complete.

His physique, bloodline, and abilities will continue evolving, but whether he permanently remains a dragon or shifts into something even greater remains to be seen.

5. Ning Guofan's Inheritance & Lost Techniques

Q. Why didn't Ning Guofan leave behind powerful cultivation techniques for Su Xiaobai?

A. In this version of the story, Ning Guofan was a formation master, and while he passed down a wealth of knowledge, all his immortal cultivation techniques and scrolls were stolen by Evil Express before Su Xiaobai could inherit them.

Additionally, Ning Guofan symbolized the Author's intervention, marking the story's revival after its previous version was abandoned. His purpose was to guide Su Xiaobai without directly making him overpowered.

Q. Why are Su Xiaobai's techniques only at the Mystic Grade instead of Immortal Grade?

A. When the Evil Empress killed Ning Guofan, she took all his belongings. Later, she discarded some items as "useless," but in truth, she hoarded all valuable immortal-grade items, leaving Su Xiaobai with only top Mystic-grade techniques.

6. Why Can't Su Xiaobai Dual Cultivate Like Other MCs?

Q. Why can't Su Xiaobai use traditional Yin-Yang Dual Cultivation, and why would it fail?

A. Normally, men have a Yang nature, while women have a Yin nature, allowing for dual cultivation through energy balance. However, Su Xiaobai's veins are Yin-aligned, meaning:

- He lacks Yang energy, making it impossible to dual cultivate traditionally.

- While he can absorb cultivation from others (plundering Yin energy), he cannot properly circulate energy in a Yin-Yang manner.

It's like two magnets with the same polarity—they repel instead of attracting.

7. The Depth of Cultivation in This World

Q. Why does the cultivation system seem more complex than usual?

A. Unlike many novels with linear power progression, this world follows a multi-layered cultivation system that incorporates:

- Fate & Karma Mechanics

- Dao Comprehension

- Multiple Coexisting Cultivation Paths

For example:

- The Righteous Dao and Evil Dao are incomplete, meaning no cultivator has fully mastered them.

- Sun Liang has achieved a Devil Heart, but the Evil Dao itself remains incomplete.

- Bai Yujian is cultivating Sword Dao, seeking to form a Righteous Heart, but the complete Righteous Dao remains unknown.

As the story progresses, you will witness unique Daos like Rain Intent, Space Dao, and beyond, making this cultivation system far richer than typical power-ups.

8. White Cloud Star & Tianlong Spirit Stone!

Q. What is the deeper lore behind the Tianlong Spirit Stone and White Cloud Star? Why is the planet infested with Hunters?

A. The Tianlong Spirit Stone is an artifact from the upper realm, but its existence in the lower realm is not natural—it was placed there due to fate's intervention. This artifact plays a critical role in bloodline awakenings, allowing it to either:

1. Awaken an existing bloodline if the cultivator already possesses one.

2. Bestow a completely new bloodline if the cultivator lacks one.

However, White Cloud Star itself holds even greater mysteries. Unlike other planets, it is infested with Hunters, and this is not a coincidence. In truth, White Cloud Star is a "farm," an experiment conducted by a greater being. Its true purpose has yet to be revealed, but it is a major reason why powerful artifacts like the Tianlong Spirit Stone exist there—to help balance the power against Hunters.

Q. What happened when Su Xiaobai touched the Tianlong Spirit Stone?

A. When Su Xiaobai first awakened his bloodline, it was only partially awakened. His true demonic bloodline and talent required him to die to fully manifest, which is why he originally only had Yin Veins in the beginning.

However, when he sneaked back to touch the stone a second time, he was not supposed to do so—the ritual traditionally allows a cultivator to touch the stone only once. This event happened just before he crash-landed on Long Lifen, the Dragon Lord's daughter, in the early chapters.

At the time, Su Xiaobai hoped that his "trashy" talent could be fixed, but instead, the stone followed its function:

- Since his original bloodline had already been awakened, it bestowed him a second bloodline—the Sky Dragon Serpent Bloodline—and altered half of his veins into Thunder veins.

Q. Can others also gain two bloodlines by touching the Tianlong Spirit Stone twice?

A. Yes, if they already have one bloodline, the stone will awaken it and then bestow them an additional bloodline (at max). However, before Su Xiaobai, no one had ever attempted this publicly, or if they did, they kept it a secret.

This is because White Cloud Star follows a strict tradition—each person is only allowed to undergo the Bloodline Awakening Ceremony once.

Q. What makes White Cloud Star unique compared to other planets?

A. White Cloud Star—specifically Wuxia Province—is the only place where every individual possesses a bloodline, and this is entirely due to the Tianlong Spirit Stone. The stone ensures that every citizen awakens a bloodline, which helps them balance power against the Hunters that infest the planet.

Q. Will more details about White Cloud Star and the Tianlong Spirit Stone be revealed?

A. Yes. Su Xiaobai's return to White Cloud Star will be a major separate arc, where he will uncover the true secrets of the planet, the reason for the Hunter infestation, and the real origins of the Tianlong Spirit Stone.

Additionally, auxiliary chapters will be added to explore geography, major themes, and world lore, making it easier for readers to connect the dots without relying only on story hints.

Final Words:

This chapter will be updated as new developments unfold. Many mysteries, such as Fate, Dao progression, and hidden cultivation mechanics, will be revealed naturally as Su Xiaobai advances!
