Harlow stirred slightly, mumbling in her sleep as Alanis carefully laid her on the waiting room chair. He tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear before standing up to face the doctors.
"Is she alright?" His voice was low, edged with impatience.
The head doctor straightened, lowering his gaze respectfully. "Master Hamilton." His eyes flickered to Harlow, who slept soundly, her lips slightly parted. He seemed to wait for an explanation.
But Alanis gave him none.
When the silence stretched, the doctor cleared his throat. "Please, come with me to my office."
Alanis barely reacted. "I need a room for my wife first." His tone was firm, allowing no argument. "I can't leave her like this."
A second doctor immediately bowed. "We'll take care of it, sir." He hurried off, and within minutes, nurses arrived, gently lifting Harlow and taking her to a private ward.
