Apparently, his character right now was a songbird.
Not only these two. Iris was twirling like a ballerina, Xi Huan was hopping all over the place, Yeo Haru was howling like a wolf.
This was the effect of the characterization skill of the Playwright's Quill. Everyone had to act like their characters to gain the character's attribute.
