Chapter 288 - Chapter 288 Dialogue with Mephisto, Ghost Rider Appears

Constantine, with his eloquence, managed to deceive both Satan and God repeatedly.

Especially Satan, who was deeply affected by it.

Unfortunately, this is the Marvel universe, where Constantine can't fully utilize his greatest strengths.

Thus, after summoning Constantine, Anton realized that Constantine role wasn't as significant as he had imagined.

Apart from his persuasive skills, in terms of combat power, he nowhere near Shazam.

Shazam possesses the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, the stamina of Atlas, the power of Zeus, and the courage of Achilles, making him a seemingly unreliable but actually incredibly powerful magic-based superhero.

Of course, the wisdom of Solomon, in Anton view, more specifically means that Shazam can directly communicate with Solomon.

Shazam is like a husky off its leash.

You might say huskies are intelligent since they rank 45th in dog intelligence, which is above average, arguably smart.

But if you say huskies are truly intelligent, given their neurotic nature, in the eyes of dog trainers and most people, they're definitely at the lower end of the intelligence spectrum.

Nevertheless, although Anton realized that Constantine cost-effectiveness was lower than Shazam, having an extra superhero wasn't a bad thing.

It always a win.

Constantine arrival could be considered as finding a magical consultant for the Justice League.

"If I want to control the Spirit of Vengeance, what should I do?"

Johnny pondered for a moment, his eyes intently focused on Constantine in front of him.

"Willpower, you need to train your willpower."

Constantine said, "The Spirit of Vengeance, Zarathos, possesses a frenzied demonic nature that could cause tremendous destruction if not controlled.

The birth of the Ghost Rider was actually to suppress Zarathos, to prevent the Spirit of Vengeance anger from burning the entire Earth.

Essentially, you are a safety device meant to prevent the Spirit of Vengeance from destroying the Earth and exterminating humanity…"

"I understand."

After Constantine explanation, Johnny fully grasped his situation.

While they were conversing, neither noticed that an elderly man, white-haired but spry, was slowly approaching Johnny residence in Los Angeles with the help of a walking stick.

Thump, thump, thump!

He climbed the stairs to Johnny front door.

His steps suddenly paused.

"Hmm?"

The old man sensed an unusual aura.

It was a familiar divine fluctuation that he had not felt in many years.

His gaze landed on the doorway.

At the center of Johnny front door was an emblem.

It was a pair of eyes.

Mephisto expression turned sour instantly he was all too familiar with these eyes.

The Eye of Horus.

Horus is the ancient Egyptian god of the sky, also known as the protector of the pharaohs.

His eyes carry a sacred meaning, representing divine protection and supreme royal authority, embodying rulers, supreme power, and Horus protection.

Tonight, these eyes were Johnny Blaze amulet.

"Who is it?"

Mephisto brows furrowed as he stared at the doorway, his gaze seemingly penetrating the walls, landing on a blond man: "You've brought a mage..."

"Hmm?"

Constantine raised an eyebrow, suddenly turning to look at the door behind him.

"What wrong?"

This was the first time since their conversation began that Johnny had seen Constantine react so sharply, and he had an ominous feeling.

"He here."

Constantine spoke calmly.

"Who here?"

Johnny was startled.

"Mephisto, the lord of Hell, the demon with whom you made a pact."

As Constantine spoke, he walked toward the door, completely disregarding Johnny suddenly pale face, and with a creak, opened the door.

A surge of hellish aura swept in, hot and heavy with the stench of decay.

At the door stood an old gentleman in a suit, leaning on a cane, quietly standing there, smiling at the two men before him.

Johnny froze on the spot.

His eyes glazed over, as if he saw a monstrous demon with a hideous face and a towering three-meter frame, covered in bone spurs, grinning broadly with blood-red eyes intently staring at him.

Constantine, however, remained composed.

He surveyed the old gentleman before him without falling into any illusions.

"Are you Mephisto?"

Constantine shrugged, glancing at the Eye of Horus on the door as if he had anticipated this: "I knew this thing couldn't stop you."

"If it were the real Horus standing before me, perhaps I would show him some respect, but it just one of his runes, nowhere near even one ten-thousandth of his divine power.

Why would I back down? By the way, aren't you going to invite me in for a sit?"

As the god of the sky or the god of kingship, Horus has a blood relationship with the sun god Ra.

In ancient times, Ra was also known as Atum, who often merged with humans.

This merging is meant literally, referring to the absorption and fusion into one entity, not in any other sense!

In comics, Atum once destroyed most of the first generation of demons and was known as the Devourer of Gods.

Therefore, demons are quite wary of the major deities in ancient Egyptian mythology.

Up until now, with ancient mythological civilizations disappearing into the river of history for tens of thousands of years, Mephisto has had little to fear.

Mephisto spoke these words quite candidly, treating Constantine as if he were a good friend, with nothing hidden in his speech.

Of course, to Constantine, this was a blatant threat.

"That makes sense."

Constantine smiled, "If it were your true form here, I would hand over Johnny without a word.

But you are just an avatar, perhaps not even one-hundred-thousandth of your true form power. Why should I let you in?"

"Very well."

Mephisto wasn't angry, "I'll remember you. What your name?"

"John."

Constantine said, "John Constantine, a mage who doesn't love to use magic."

"So, you're sure you want to get involved in this matter between Johnny and me?"

Mephisto asked, "Do you know who you're speaking to?"

"Mephisto, one of the lords of Hell."

Constantine replied, "If you were the ruler of all Hell, I might be more interested..."

"It been a long time since anyone dared speak to me like that."

Mephisto remarked, his eyes instantly filling with black, and a fierce demonic aura swept out like a surging sea.

Constantine remained unfazed.

Behind him, Johnny suddenly lifted his head, and his entire form turned into a skeleton enveloped in red flames.

The Ghost Rider!

Appears!
