The battle between Wonder Woman, Cyborg, and a Skrull impersonating Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers, continues unabated.
Thousands of eyes are glued to the spectacle in the sky, reminiscent of the battle a few months ago between the Justice League and the Avengers in Washington D.C.
It worth noting that while this battle might not match the scale of the previous Washington battle, it still stunningly impressive.
The distinction here is the visible superiority in the individual powers of the three combatants, surpassing other superheroes in terms of sheer ability.
Astonishing speed!
Terrifying strength!
In all aspects, they seem to overpower other heroes.
Of course, Batman is in a league of his own and is not included in this comparison.
Regardless of the abilities Batman demonstrates, people subconsciously regard him as a character on a different level.
Boom! Boom!
The continuous explosions in the air are deafening, and the shockwaves produced by their supersonic speeds ripple through the air like ripples on a lake, stirring up hurricane-like gusts throughout the city.
Amidst the panicked cries, the human penchant for spectacles is evident.
People are willing to risk danger just to witness the excitement.
Journalists are frenzied, chasing the airborne battlefield to capture the action.
In the midst of this fierce fight, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, and the Skrull, now Captain Marvel, are all intensely focused, facing each other with no spare energy to consider the thoughts of the citizens of Washington.
They push their abilities to the limit.
The Skrull, having transformed into Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers, gains the power of energy manipulation.
He, or she, can control unprecedented levels of energy.
This power allows the Skrull to defy the planet magnetic field and achieve flight capabilities rivaling a spaceship, able to traverse the universe alone.
Upon acquiring this power, the Skrull felt invincible.
However, out of caution, it chose not to reveal this immediately.
Instead, it covertly invaded Earth, planning a more secure takeover.
During this time, Batman emerged, the Justice League assembled, and on Earth, a series of powerful figures unheard of by many Skrulls emerged one after another in various alien incidents.
This realization made the Super Skrull aware that Earth was not as stable as they had imagined.
However, the Super Skrull plans for a covert invasion had reached a critical stage, and despite the changing circumstances, abandoning years of effort was not an option.
Thus, they proceeded with even greater caution.
The Super Skrull even entertained a new idea.
Not only did he want to make himself the ultimate trump card for the Skrulls, but he also planned to create more Super Skrulls like himself to bolster their military strength.
In his vision, Earth would see a proliferation of cloned superheroes, all replicating the powers of existing heroes to augment the strength of the Skrulls.
This continued until the establishment of the Men in Black, when Nick Fury planned to join the S.W.O.R.D. organization.
Plans often fail to keep up with changes.
The leader of the Men in Black, Anton Jameson, exposed all information about the Skrulls to the World Security Council.
Left with no choice, the Super Skrull altered their strategy and activated spies who had been in hiding for years.
Nick Fury and Maria Rambeau, two of Carol Danvers closest friends, were among the most knowledgeable Earthlings about the Skrulls and had to be eliminated.
Under the Super Skrull manipulation, the World Security Council swiftly passed a resolution to charge Nick Fury with crimes against humanity and deployed special forces to hunt down the remnants of S.W.O.R.D. and any Skrulls supporting Nick Fury.
The Super Skrull planned to use this opportunity to eliminate Nick Fury and any fellow Skrulls on Earth who were obstructing his plans.
By leveraging human forces, the Super Skrull aimed to eradicate his enemies and dissenting compatriots.
This is typical of the shape-shifting Skrulls, whose initial incursions into human society were beginning to bear fruit.
Much like the recently emerged organization... Hydra.
Cut off one head, and another appears.
To the Skrulls, Earthlings will never truly understand how many Skrulls are hidden among them.
Those in the know thought Nick Fury had taken most of the Skrulls with him.
Little did they know, compared to those taken by Nick Fury, the invading Skrulls represented the majority.
What happened next unfolded just as everyone saw.
After being declared a fugitive, Nick Fury, out of desperation, left Earth with the Skrulls to search the cosmos for the real Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers.
Maria Rambeau chose to stay behind and was arrested by special forces.
Things did not resolve as smoothly as the Super Skrull had hoped, but there was at least a transitional period.
However, the Super Skrull did not anticipate how brief this transition would be.
Nick Fury had left contingencies on Earth.
Through these measures, he uncovered the whole truth and had his loyal Skrulls, disguised as himself, warn the Men in Black organization.
Anton naturally and brazenly reopened the case.
The Super Skrull cautioned all his subordinates to remain hidden and avoid exposing their identities at all costs.
But as the saying goes, "If you wish to keep a secret, you must also hide it from yourself."
Tyler Hayward was eventually exposed.
As a spy who had infiltrated a top-secret agency for many years, Tyler Hayward controlled much critical information.
Moreover, through the channels of S.H.I.E.L.D. and S.W.O.R.D., Hayward had provided significant assistance to the undercover Skrulls, proving himself invaluable and too useful to be disposed of prematurely.
Thus, forced into a corner, the Super Skrull revealed his strength and appeared disguised as Captain Marvel.
He planned to rescue Hayward swiftly and eliminate the special forces team members.
However, he did not anticipate encountering Wonder Woman and Cyborg, who arrived just in time.
One thing led to another, completely disrupting his plans.
Fortunately, he was confident that humans did not know he could transform into a superhero and acquire their powers.
In other words, even if humans recognized him as a member of the Skrull faction, they would see him as Carol Danvers and not as a Skrull in disguise.
Furthermore, with Nick Fury leaving Earth to search for Carol Danvers in space, his cover story was plausible.
This at least allowed him to shift some of the blame and divert attention from Anton and others, giving the undercover Skrulls more room to maneuver.
However, the Super Skrull was unaware that his identity had been compromised from the beginning.
No matter how carefully the Super Skrull disguised himself, some things just can't be concealed if someone has an advantage.
