Chapter 356 - Chapter 356 No Effort Required

Anton idea, put bluntly, is to simultaneously sabotage and steal from cross Technologies.

This is not uncommon.

Whether in business or on the battlefield, the rule has always been that the winner takes all.

Anton is interested in the research results of cross Technologies solely because their research, namely the Wasp Suit, is based on Pym Particles.

The importance of Pym Particles is well-known.

In the final battle of Avengers 4, if not for Ant-Man Scott and the Pym Particles aiding their time travel,

the Avengers team would not have been able to reverse the outcome they would have been at the mercy of Thanos, trampled underfoot.

In other words, Pym Particles are the key to time travel.

If Anton can master the critical aspect of Pym Particles through the Wasp Suit, he could start time traveling earlier, uncover the true nature of Marvel sacred timeline, or even explore other timelines.

Even without Pym Particles, Anton has ways to travel through time.

Don't forget, his system still includes an unexchanged Flash from the DC Universe.

With the Flash speed, he inherently has the ability to reverse time.

Even in the Marvel Universe, Anton believes that the Flash can freely travel through time.

However, now that he has the opportunity to study Pym Particles, Anton would not foolishly pass it up.

After pondering for a moment, Anton takes action.

Considering his relationship with Wayne Enterprises, he decides not to act directly against cross Technologies.

Someone else is more suited to be his tool, to stab at cross Technologies.

And this "person," even knowing they are being used, would gladly accept.

Thus, Anton takes out his phone and calls someone he hasn't contacted in a long time.

Europe.

The new headquarters of S.H.I.E.L.D.

S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Coulson receives an unexpected call.

"Anton, it been a long time."

Coulson is surprised, his mind racing with thoughts he can't confirm why Anton would call him, so he greets him and honestly says,

"I didn't expect you to call me."

"After all, although I don't care for Nick Fury, fundamentally, I have no hatred towards S.H.I.E.L.D.," Anton says.

"I'm contacting you about a person."

"Who?" Coulson is curious.

He knows that anything coming from Anton is no small matter.

So, with a slightly stern face, he waits for Anton next words.

"Mitchell Carson."

Anton says, "As far as I know, he might be a Hydra member."

"Mitchell Carson?" Coulson frowns, not unfamiliar with the name.

Mitchell Carson, a high-ranking S.H.I.E.L.D. official, served as deputy director during Alexander Pierce tenure,

but stepped down from his position and chose retirement after Pierce resigned to become Secretary-General, leaving his high-level position to younger agents.

Coulson had thought Mitchell Carson was a noble person, but Anton words suddenly chill him.

Coulson feelings are complicated.

On one hand, he horrified by the Hydra agents infiltrated within S.H.I.E.L.D. on the other, he extremely uneasy about Carson actions post-retirement.

It conceivable that if Mitchell Carson had stayed in S.H.I.E.L.D., as one of the old guard, his position and status would not have been lower than his, the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Yet, in such a potentially bright future, Mitchell Carson chose retirement.

So, what is his real motive?

In a flash, countless thoughts raced through Coulson mind, shaken by Anton straightforward words, leaving him unable to calm down for a short while.

"It seems you are not unfamiliar with him."

Anton said, "If I'm not mistaken, he was originally an agent of yours at S.H.I.E.L.D."

"That right, he was the Deputy Director during Alexander Pierce tenure, and he retired many years ago. I haven't heard that name in a long time," Coulson replied.

Believing Anton information that Mitchell Carson might be a member of Hydra, Coulson chose to trust him completely, without any doubt.

Although Anton only said "might be," Coulson knew that this was just Anton modest way of speaking.

The fact is, Anton must have already verified the truth.

The reason he made this call was to further investigate Mitchell Carson.

"Since he one of your people, it easier to talk about this. This matter must be handled by you to be convenient."

Following this, Anton words confused Coulson, overturning his previous speculations.

Anton said, "Mitchell Carson is now planning something, and you need to take responsibility for it."

"Please explain."

"Mitchell Carson is now closely associated with cross Technologies.

He plans to procure a batch of the latest research from cross Technologies Future Lab,

called the Wasp Suit, which you can consider similar to Ant-Man suit," Anton said meaningfully.

"Ant-Man, I don't need to say more, you should be very familiar with it."

Coulson felt almost overwhelmed by Anton words, feeling like he was being led by the nose.

However, after coming to his senses, he also realized the seriousness of the situation.

Ant-Man, Hank Pym, he was certainly familiar with him.

As a former ace agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., even though Pym had left S.H.I.E.L.D. before Coulson joined, Coulson had grown up hearing about his heroic deeds during his promotion.

Ant-Man suit!

The Wasp Suit!

Coulson expression became very serious.

"Moreover, cross Technologies also plans to start a collaboration with the U.S. military...

If the collaboration is successful, cross Technologies is likely to become a thorn in the military side," Anton continued.

"Therefore, S.H.I.E.L.D. needs to take responsibility for this."

"What do you want me to do?" Coulson asked, finally understanding why Anton had called him.

He caught the key term in Anton words.

cross Technologies.

Although S.H.I.E.L.D. recent activities have mainly been in Europe, it doesn't mean they are completely unaware of what happening in the Americas.

cross Technologies has been making headlines recently, their entry into the arms market and their firm footing are being watched by many forces.

Especially after cross Technologies decided to compete with Wayne Enterprises.

This company, daring to challenge the authority of Batman, became the focus of many forces.

They all wanted to see what Wayne Enterprises, where Batman is, would do about this.

Sure enough, Coulson saw it.

A simple probe, and he uncovered the true nature of cross Technologies collaborators.

Mitchell Carson, closely associated with cross Technologies and a former Deputy Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., now controlling billions in an international investment foundation, turned out to be a Hydra member...

Hydra plotting once again felt chilling.

As usual, Coulson didn't think Anton was speaking without evidence.

In the style of Batman, or rather, the Justice League, they don't make baseless accusations.

Solving competitors openly and fairly is their attitude.

Just like before, in the initial battle that sparked in Washington, facing Hydra.

"You contact the World Security Council and inform them about Mitchell Carson I and the Justice League will coordinate with you."

With that simple sentence, Anton hung up the phone.

He knew Coulson was a smart man and would definitely understand his intentions.

As Anton thought, Coulson indeed got the message.

At the same time, he was also willing to serve Anton.

By exposing Mitchell Carson identity proactively, S.H.I.E.L.D. could help restore the World Security Council trust in S.H.I.E.L.D.

This at least shows that S.H.I.E.L.D. actions against Hydra in these days are not futile.

Soon.

Upon receiving the intelligence, the World Security Council immediately notified S.H.I.E.L.D. to convene a meeting.

At the meeting, Coulson definitively identified Mitchell Carson Hydra affiliation but did not reveal that the information came from Anton.

The American representatives took this intelligence very seriously and informed military members.

The U.S. military then held a meeting where the relationship between cross Technologies and Wayne Enterprises was discussed.

John Keller firmly stated that the Justice League would not engage in slander, and many agreed.

After the military meeting concluded, Darren Cross, the CEO of cross Technologies, received the news.

His face showed a slight change and he felt a heavy burden as he pulled out an encrypted satellite phone to contact Mitchell Carson.

"The situation has changed," he said.

Mitchell Carson responded calmly, "I know."

Darren Cross said, "Your identity has been exposed, and we can no longer continue our cooperation. So, I can only pray for you now."

"Hmph," Mitchell Carson scoffed.

"Don't forget, I also have a stake in your research. Do you need me to remind you why you were able to push Hank Pym out?"

Darren Cross paused for a moment, then said, "I can arrange a ticket for you to South Africa, but that all I can do."

"The military has already initiated action against me, and they will be at my house in ten minutes," Mitchell Carson said angrily, threatening,

"I need you to delay the military arrival, otherwise, I will hand over all your illegal evidence to the military...

I suppose you wouldn't want the research on the Wasp Suit at the Future Lab to be interrupted, right?"

Hearing this, Darren Cross took a deep breath, his eyes gleaming coldly, but he had no choice but to make a promise to Mitchell.

The research on the Wasp Suit at cross Technologies was at a critical stage.

Being out of money was the least of his concerns.

Given the status and level of cross Technologies today, money was no longer a key constraint for the company growth, nor for the research on the Wasp Suit.

Many were watching this research.

Even without money, those waving their checkbooks wanting to invest could line up from New York to Los Angeles.

Mitchell Carson threat was mainly from his position as a member of Hydra.

Many thoughts raced through Darren Cross mind, and finally, he said, "I can deploy a team of international mercenaries nearby to help you stop the military, but remember, this is my only concession."

"No problem," Mitchell Carson hung up the phone.

He and Darren Cross tacitly ignored one issue.

From Mitchell Carson recent words, it was clear that the military would arrive at his location in at most ten minutes.

What Darren Cross implied was that his team of international mercenaries could also arrive within ten minutes and definitely before the military forces otherwise, if the military arrived before the mercenaries, it would be too late.

"Hmph."

After hanging up the phone, Mitchell Carson remained expressionless, betraying none of the panic and slight anger from the phone call. Instead, his eyes held an extreme calm, like a robot operating purely on logic.

On the other side.

Darren Cross switched his phone number and sent a text with just a few simple words.

"Eliminate him."

Unbeknownst to both parties, their communication was being monitored, completely observed by someone else.

Manhattan.

In the DC Company office.

Anton, almost a god of the network, possessing Cyborg, heard the conversation between the two men and recorded it.

"Such typical villains..."

Anton clicked his tongue, fully aware of the reactions of these two men after they hung up the phone and what their subconscious revealed.

Darren Cross clearly did not intend to give Mitchell Carson any more chances.

And Mitchell Carson, too, had anticipated Darren Cross actions and had other plans.

Of course, to Anton, this wasn't the main point.

These two, despite their seemingly special identities, were merely minor characters in Anton eyes today, not worth much of his effort.

At this moment, all Anton needed to do was to hand over the recorded conversation of the two men to the military or the World Security Council, and cross Technologies would be completely finished.

And Mitchell Carson...

Today, whatever his plans were, he would absolutely not be able to escape the military encirclement.

Because in this operation to capture Mitchell Carson, the Secretary of Defense, John Keller, had enlisted the help of the Justice League.

For a swift resolution of the conflict, Anton had deployed his long-unseen Green Arrow persona, planning to let Green Arrow make an impressive display.

Meanwhile, Anton attention shifted from Darren Cross location to the inner workings of the Future Lab at cross Technologies.

At that moment, a poised woman with short hair walked into the Future Lab and, using her access, opened the database related to the Wasp Suit.

"Oh?"

Anton raised an eyebrow, watching the woman on the monitor, and revealed a meaningful smile.

"Hope van Dyne, the second Wasp... I almost overlooked this woman. Truly, it all come to me without any effort!"
