Celestial Ascendancy

Chapter 30: Devil Summoning. (II)

Hogwarts.

Elias Blake.

The return to the house was as awkward as I had expected.

Iris was nervous, but the knowledge that there were greater heights than what she had known before also excited her. I knew her well enough to see the signs.

It was amusing, but at the same time, it was nerve-wracking. Iris, having that level of firepower, was something I wanted to see just for the hell of it, but it was also something I feared. She didn't have the best attitude when she got angry, and I wouldn't put it past her to blow up some poor soul just because they said something they shouldn't have.

She could be downright petty when she wanted.

Hermione, on the other hand, was the complete opposite. She was visibly afraid, her body trembling ever so slightly. That's why the first thing Iris and I did was hug her and offer our support. Seekvaira, to her credit, seemed to understand the situation and walked back in silence for the rest of the way.

That had been five minutes ago. Now, with a refill of tea and pastries, courtesy of the excitable house-elf, Hermione had calmed down enough to continue the conversation.

I placed my hand on her thigh and gave it a soft, reassuring rub to show my understanding while Iris took her hand in hers for the same reason.

"Thank you for your understanding, Heir Agares," I said, offering a soft smile to the devil, who watched us with a slight quirk on her lips. Either she was the best actress I'd ever seen, or there was a genuinely good person beneath her cold exterior.

"If you'd like, we can proceed with our deal," I said, waving my hand casually. Ash took that moment to flutter over to Hermione's lap, crooning a soft, melodious tune that seemed to warm the room. Seekvaira shifted slightly in her seat but didn't react as if Ash's actions bothered her in the slightest.

"I can understand what she's feeling, Mr. Black," Seekvaira chuckled. "It's happened often enough with contract magicians. As for my question… is knowledge the only reason you summoned me?"

I nodded, my expression calm, even as I tried to hide the other reason. "Yes, that was the main reason," I began but hesitated. A strange pull in my chest made it impossible to hide the whole truth. Grimacing, I could feel the heat on my cheeks as I continued, "But… I was also curious about Devils. Until two weeks ago, we had no idea about the existence of a bigger world."

Seekvaira chuckled softly, her pink eyes filled with amusement as she studied me. "Curiosity is a natural thing, especially when it comes to beings like us," she said lightly. "I can't blame you for wanting to know more."

I cleared my throat, trying to regain my composure. "It's nice knowing I can expect an honest answer," I chuckled, shaking my head.

Seekvaira nodded, a tiny smirk playing on her lips, "A nifty trick, is it not?"

"I believe it's my turn now," I said, scratching my cheek. "I need to ask, how strong are you, exactly? What you did back there is something I find hard to believe. The only person I know who might be capable of something like that is the Headmaster of our school, and he's over a hundred years old. You're what, in your twenties?"

Seekvaira leaned back in her seat, her expression thoughtful. "Strength is relative, Mr. Black," she replied. "For my age, I'm considered strong. But in the grand scheme of things, many surpass me. The hierarchy of power among Devils and other supernatural beings is… layered, to say the least. We'll come back to the school you mentioned, but let me continue with my explanation first."

She paused as if considering how best to explain. "At the lowest tier, you have Low-Class Devils. They're the most common, often serving as foot soldiers or servants. Above them are Mid-Class Devils, who are more capable and often take on leadership roles in smaller tasks. Then there are High-Class Devils like myself. We're stronger, more influential, and often come from noble families."

She took a deep breath before continuing. "That being said, those levels can be obtained either through pedigree without much effort or through strength and contributions to our society." She chuckled softly when she noticed Hermione's confused expression. "I know this can be hard to understand, but for example, I was considered a High-Class Devil from a very young age, but that didn't mean I had that level of power from birth."

I listened intently, comparing her words to what little I knew. While I wasn't an expert on DxD lore, I'd heard this multiple times in my past life, and her explanation matched what I expected.

Seekvaira continued calmly. "Beyond High-Class, there are Ultimate-Class Devils. They're rare, incredibly powerful, and often serve as pillars of our society. Then, at the very top, you have Satan-Class beings. They're the pinnacle of power among Devils, capable of reshaping entire battlefields with their strength. I won't go too deep into the explanation, but you could say there are fewer than thirty Ultimate class beings in the whole Underworld."

She tilted her head slightly, her tone turning serious. "And beyond that, there are beings capable of defeating Satan-Class entities. A few examples include Lord Lucifer, Lord Beelzebub, and some gods you may have heard of, like Odin or Thor."

I let out a low whistle. This was genuinely terrifying to hear, and the thought that someone of that caliber might be helping Voldemort made me nervous. I could only hope it was something we could handle.

"We'll come back to that later. I believe it's your turn now," I said, smiling at her.

Seekvaira nodded, her lips pursing in thought. "You mentioned a school. I know human magicians sometimes form part of the so-called Magician organizations. Still, I don't believe your kind mingles with them. Can you explain a bit about where you learn?"

"I think Mione's the best one to answer that," I chuckled, glancing at my bushy-haired girlfriend. Her cheeks had a rosy tint, but she had calmed down during Seekvaira's explanation.

Hermione nodded, taking a deep breath before speaking. "There are multiple schools for wizards and witches, depending on where you're born. Since all of us are from Britain, we attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. We start attending school once our magic cores stabilize and continue until we can control our magic, usually around twenty years old. The school has existed since the tenth century and was created by Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Salazar Slytherin, and Rowena Ravenclaw."

Hermione took a sip of her tea, making herself more comfortable. Seekvaira listened with utmost attention, her eyes filled with curiosity.

"The school teaches the same core classes each year, but you can start attending extra classes from the third year onwards. The main classes are Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Transfiguration, Potions, and Herbology," Hermione continued.

Seekvaira nodded. "That's really interesting."

"I know," Hermione chirped, her nervousness fading as she warmed up to the topic. It was probably the act of sharing her knowledge that calmed her down. "There are other schools worldwide, but we've only met students from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang this year. Even across countries, we wizards are pretty insular. It's quite unusual for multiple schools to meet like this."

"Oh? And why are they here, then?" Seekvaira asked.

I grumbled, "The headmasters—or principals if you prefer—decided to reopen something called the Triwizard Tournament."

Iris scowled at the reminder. "It's a tournament between the three schools Hermione mentioned, but they stopped it because of the death toll. For some stupid reason, they decided to host it once more."

"That sounds irresponsible and dangerous," Seekvaira said, her lips thinning.

"It is," I nodded firmly. "And I'm the unlucky fourth contestant."

Her mouth opened in surprise, and I chuckled bitterly. "The headmaster said only seventh years could participate, but someone put my name in the Goblet of Fire. Now I'm obligated to participate—or my magic will be stripped."

"He did well in the first task," Iris said, defending me. "He's in first place right now. He beat a bloody dragon."

Seekvaira's mouth opened again, but this time she frowned. "I apologize, but I don't like being lied to."

"What do you mean?" Iris scowled, her expression hardening.

"A dragon?" Seekvaira scoffed. "Even I would have trouble with a dragon, and while I can feel Mr. Black's magic is impressive for a human his age, it's not enough to defeat a dragon."

"It was a dragon," Hermione interrupted firmly. "A nesting mother, at that."

That being said, I understood Seekvaira's doubt. A dragon from the supernatural world wasn't comparable to what we had. So I stood up, left the room, and headed to the small library in my hollow. I grabbed a book Hermione had used to help me plan for the first task.

When I returned, the tension in the air was palpable. My girls were glaring daggers at Seekvaira, and the devil was clearly growing upset with the slight.

"This was the dragon I defeated," I said, handing her the book opened to the page about the Hungarian Horntail. "They're probably different from the dragons you're used to, but these are considered dragons in the wizarding world. They have enclosures and everything for them."

She took the book with a frown and started reading it slowly before she nodded, her expression relaxing. I sighed in relief, seeing that the situation was handled. I did not want to end up at odds with her; she could be of a lot of help in the future for multiple reasons. She had some political power, was of a good house so she was probably rich, and her strenght was nothing to scoff at.

"I believe there was a misunderstanding. You have my apologies," Seekvaira admitted, her chin held high. "What you just showed me are called wyverns in the supernatural world. They aren't comparable to a true dragon, so I doubted you."

I waved my hand flippantly. "I wasn't offended, and I hope we can leave this behind."

Iris nodded grumpily, as did Hermione. They were adorable, coming to my defense, but right now, I just wanted to spank them for almost picking a fight with someone we had no chance of winning against.

I sat down between them and hugged them tightly. "It was a misunderstanding. Let it go, please."

Hermione nodded, calmer than before, and Iris took a deep breath before leaning into me.

"Fine," Iris rolled her eyes.

I smiled bitterly at Seekvaira, who chuckled at the girls before closing the book.

"I believe it's time for me to leave, but I'm interested in keeping in contact. I'm sure there are some things the wizards have that could be useful for me," she said thoughtfully.

"I'd love that," I smiled at her. "But before we get to that, can I ask one final question? It's pretty important for us."

Seekvaira nodded gracefully.

"Thanks," I said. "Do you, by any chance, know anything about a purple flame that can be detonated at a distance? Whether it's a magic spell or an artifact?" I asked with a frown.

Seekvaira pursed her lips before shaking her head. "That's not enough information, I'm afraid. I haven't heard of a spell like that."

I tsked my tongue. "What happened is this," I began, explaining the situation with Barty Crouch Jr.

After my explanation, she was frowning heavily, biting her lip in thought. Her eyes were wide, and it surprised me how expressive they were. I hadn't noticed before, but her striking features were truly unique. Her pink eyes were beautiful, even with the slitted irises that gave them a beastly quality, and her green hair looked pretty cool, in my honest opinion.

"No, I still don't know," she shook her head.

I sighed at that but paused when she continued.

"Give me some time. I'll ask some people to see if I can find something out," she smiled prettily, a dimple on her cheek catching my attention.

"Thank you," Iris nodded at her. "We could use some help with that."

"That brings me to an idea," Seekvaira said, nodding. She made a magic circle around her ear and mouth, speaking softly, but we couldn't hear a thing.

I looked at her questioningly, but she shook her head and held a finger.

After a minute, a larger magic circle lit up in front of her, and from it dropped a small bag.

"This is something called a Devil Phone," she said as she opened the bag and showed us the phone. "It's a normal cellphone, but it has access to the Devil Net. It's like the Internet, but you can find supernatural topics openly."

If I had less control, I'd be smiling wildly. I was prepared to pay all the gold we had for access to this. She saved me a lot of trouble by offering it herself.

She moved her fingers across the screen as she continued talking. "I'll add my contact information. Send me a text to see if I'm free to talk, and then you can use the summoning circle for me to appear here."

"That's awesome," Hermione gushed, "but… electronics have problems around magic."

"I doubt this will," Seekvaira said with a tiny smirk. "But if it does, summon me again in a couple of days, and I'll bring something else."

"You have no idea how much this will help us, Heir Agares," I smiled gratefully. "If there's anything we can do to help you in return, feel free to ask. As long as it's within reason, I'll do my best to comply."

"There is something," she nodded. "By the next time we meet, can you have some wizarding products for me to check?"

"Easily done," I nodded firmly. "I will go to Hogsmeade, a nearby Wizarding Village to buy some products that may interest you."

"I can't wait, then. Please call me Seekvaira, Mr. Black, Miss Potter, Miss Granger," she smiled softly. A green magic circle sprang from her feet, filling the room with light. I shielded my eyes, and when the light faded, she was gone.

When I saw we were alone, I sighed and slumped back onto the couch, dragging the girls with me as they yelped before snuggling closer.

"Well," I said, breaking the silence, "that was… something."

Hermione let out a small, nervous laugh, her fingers fidgeting with the hem of her shirt. "I can't believe we just met a devil. An actual devil. And she was… surprisingly polite. My mum will kill me if she ever finds out."

Iris, on the other hand, was practically buzzing with excitement. "Are you kidding? That was amazing! There are so many new things we can learn and people to meet. Fights to have! I can't wait until we graduate. I don't care about Voldemort any more."

I chuckled, reaching over to ruffle Iris's hair. "Easy there, babe. I know you're excited, but let's not forget she's still a devil. We should be careful."

"I know, I know," Iris said, waving me off, her grin still in place. "But come on, Eli, this is huge! We've got access to a whole new world now. Think about what we could learn, what we could do!"

Hermione interjected softly, rubbing Iris's scalp. "Iris, I understand your enthusiasm, but we can't dive into this blindly. We need to be cautious. Devils aren't exactly known for their altruism. There could be a catch."

"True," I agreed, nodding. "But Seekvaira seemed genuine enough. And she's offering us something we desperately need... information. If we play our cards right, this could be a game-changer for us."

Hermione sighed, "I suppose you're right. And… I have to admit, the idea of accessing something like the Devil Net is incredibly tempting. Imagine the knowledge we could gain. But we need to set boundaries. We can't let ourselves get too indebted to her."

"Agreed," I said firmly. "We'll take what she offers, but we'll be smart about it. No reckless deals, no blind trust. We'll keep her at arm's length until we know where she stands."

"I believe my perk will help with this," I smiled at Hermione. "Remember Consummate Lawyer? We can always ask for a written deal. That way, I can find any loopholes before signing."

Mione's eyes brightened as she nodded and snuggled closer.

Iris pouted slightly but nodded, too. "Fine, I get it. But can we at least talk about how cool all of this is? I mean, did you hear her? Ultimate-Class Devils, Satan-Class beings, gods like Odin and Thor? This is like something out of a book! I still have trouble believing they exist."

I couldn't help but smile at her enthusiasm. "It is pretty wild, isn't it? We've been dealing with magic for years, but this… this is on a whole other level. It's like we've been playing in the kiddie pool, and now we're being thrown into the ocean."

Hermione's lips twitched into a small smile. "That's one way to put it. But it's not just the scale of it. If there are beings out there who can reshape battlefields or rival gods, what does that mean for us? For the wizarding world? We're so isolated, so insular. The majority of us have no idea about it."

"Exactly," I said, leaning forward. "I'm sure the Headmaster knows. He's the head of the ICW, and I've always felt he was hiding something. We can't risk him finding out we know about this."

Iris's eyes were determined as she nodded. "I'm sure he has his reasons, but I don't care either way. This is way too big to hide from me."

Hermione nodded slowly. "You're right. We can't afford to be ignorant anymore. If Seekvaira is willing to help us, we should take advantage of that. But we'll do it on our terms."

"That's the spirit," I said, grinning. "We'll take this one step at a time. For now, let's focus on what we can learn from her. And who knows? Maybe this will be the start of a nice friendship."

"She was beautiful," Iris mumbled, "and hot…"

I couldn't help but burst out laughing, with Mione joining me after a few seconds of silence.

Iris blushed but carried on. "You can laugh, but there's no way for her to be anything but a devil. That body of hers was sinful to the extreme. Did you see her… you know?" she finished by grabbing her chest and lifting them up before letting them fall.

I almost drolled at the scene.

"Iris, don't be crude," chided Hermione, her cheeks tinged pink.

"Bah," Iris scoffed. "I'm just saying what we're all thinking."

I chuckled but nodded in her direction. "They were… massive, I'll give you that."

Hermione groaned, burying her face in her hands, while Iris grinned triumphantly.

Before we could continue, I felt the Grimoire stir like crazy, appearing in front of me without any input.

It had been a while since I had seen it, and honestly, I had been getting worried. (AN: These points are for the past few chapter that I forgot to add them lol)

My jaw fell to the floor. I could feel my body changing, and the girls stiffened beside me. Thankfully, the first roll was not activated without my input like when I became a Cryomancer. I don't think they would survive if a sun appeared on my hand.

The girls looked at me open-mouthed as my body filled out even more, muscles rippling beneath my skin in a way that felt both natural and alien at the same time.

I quickly stood up, my movements smoother and more controlled than ever, and transfigured a mirror before me. Little by little, I watched my face lose its remaining baby fat, sharpening into a more defined, mature structure. My jawline became more pronounced, my cheekbones higher, and my features took on an almost ethereal quality. It was like looking at a polished version of myself—still recognizable, but undeniably more.

"Elias…" Hermione whispered, her voice tinged with awe. "What's happening to you?"

On the other hand, Iris was staring with wide eyes, her mouth still hanging open. "Bloody hell, Elias. You look like you just stepped out of a bloody romance movie."

I turned to face them, my reflection shifting in the mirror as I moved. My shoulders had broadened, and my chest and arms were now corded with lean muscle. Even my posture seemed different. I flexed my hand experimentally, marveling at the strength I could feel coursing through me.

"It's the latest roll," I said, my voice deeper. "I think this is the best roll I have, period."

Hermione stepped closer, her curiosity overcoming her initial shock. She reached out tentatively, her fingers brushing against my arm. "Your skin… it feels different. Firmer, but not in a bad way. It's… like you're made of more than flesh and bone. How the fuck are we supposed to explain these changes to anyone?!"

I looked at Hermione in surprise. She rarely cursed, but given the circumstances, it was understandable. I really did look different...more defined, more imposing. I looked… more.

"Don't worry about that," I chuckled deeply. "Only the two of you will remember me from the past; for everyone else, I have always been like this."

Iris, ran her hand over my chest with a grin. "Damn, Elias. You're like a walking statue now. If you weren't already mine, I'd throw myself at you."

I chuckled, the sound deeper and richer than before, and even that felt different. "Glad to know I'm still attractive to you, Iris."

"Attractive?" she snorted. "You're practically a god now. Look at you!"

Hermione frowned slightly, "This is incredible, Eli, but… is it only physical? Or is it changing you on a deeper level?"

"I'm more intelligent than before, of that, I'm sure," I said, my voice rumbling in a way that made the girls squirm. Iris practically humped my leg as discreetly as she could, and Hermione pressed her thighs together, her cheeks flushing as she tried to maintain her composure.

"You're way too much," Iris groaned, her eyes dark with an emotion that sent a flutter through my stomach… lust.

I smirked, grabbing their waists and lifting them both effortlessly. They gasped, clinging to my neck as I held them close, my hands resting on their hips to keep them steady. "I love you both," I said softly, feeling more confident than ever before. I had changed… for the better.

Voldemort? He was no one. And I would enjoy tearing him limb from limb for his crimes against what was mine. I was going to bring him to justice… my justice. And I planned to enjoy every moment of it.
