Helicopter
[God damn it Nik, what are we even looking at?!] A middle-aged man's voice crackled through the comms.
[I think we are way over our heads in this one fellas] Then a young male answered with a wry voice.
[Yeah this is too much, don't you think this is way above our pay grade] Another member of the team agreed, his voice heavy with unease.
[Fuck, did that old man just slice those bullets in half?! You guys have seen that right?! Tell me you've seen that shit!] A young voice appeared, filled with disbelief and a hint of panic.
[I vote for getting the fuck out of here!] Finally, someone cut in, unable to take it anymore.
[I second that. This ain't a mission, this shit is suicide] Another member of the team echoed, eager to escape the impossible scene they were witnessing.
[Boys, I'm sure this old man is faster than me!] Someone else interjected, focusing on a different problem, his voice laced with envy.
[Ahem, I'm not scared, but yeah, let's leave] Another man tried to act tough, but his voice betrayed his fear of the unknown.
As Nik's mercenary group's conversation continued, a mixture of disbelief, surprise, and fear for the impossible filled the air. Nik, however, had finally reached her limit.
"You all, shut the fuck up!" Nik shouted, pressing her earpiece as she lowered her binoculars to observe Lucian and Alexander fighting. She couldn't help but start to get irritated by the noise from her team.
"I know this is something new," Nik said, taking her attention away from the fight below. Her eyes struggled to keep up with the speed of the combat, so she started to calm herself down.
[New? No, let me tell you I've gone two tours in Afghanistan, and this shit, this shit is fucking diabolical] O'Malley's voice crackled over the comms, his words laced with a sense of superiority.
"Okay, O'Malley, no one wanted to hear your stories this time," Nik said, rolling her eyes in amusement. She glanced at her brother, who was mouthing to her to leave. Nik shook her head before spreading her palm open, signaling for him to stop.
"I know this is something new for all of us," Nik released a sigh as she continued, "But this is a chance, a way to shine on a bigger stage. Or do you guys want to go back and pretend nothing happened?!" Nik shouted excitedly, punching her brother's leg.
"Ah!" Yaz gritted his teeth, mouthing 'why me?' to his sister.
Nik just turned around, her eyes narrowed. "Are you guys fine pretending everything is normal? Telling yourself at night before you're asleep that it's all just a dream?!"
"But I don't like that, I'm not like that," Nik said, her eyes sparkling with determination and curiosity for the new world that had opened up to her. "I want to know everything this world has to offer."
"And gentlemen," Nik asked with a mischievous glint in her eyes, "Are you guys confident to survive an attack from someone like that without any information?" Nik knew her team well, how they think and what they want, and that's why she picked them.
A heavy silence settled over the comms, as if the team were holding their breath. Yaz rubbed his leg, but he looked at his sister with complicated eyes before holding her hand, giving her his support. He nodded toward Nik, and they shared a smile, showing their strong bond.
[I mean, if you put it like that, we got to know more, don't we boys?] The middle-aged man said bitterly. He knew from their occupation that they wouldn't rest easy if they knew something like this existed in the world.
[Then you better not miss, otherwise our employer won't tell us shit after we finish] One of the pilots said with amusement.
[Oh fuck, I forget about the mission] The young man said, his attention fully on Lucian and Alexander's fight.
[Three o'clock. Someone is getting out of the door]
[Confirmed, it's one of them]
Nik raised her binoculars, her eyes focused on the target. She was about to aim her gun when sparks erupted across the ship's floor, a sudden, violent display of energy. She used the binoculars again to observe, seeing how a few bullets missed the cleaner before finally finding their mark.
[Gotcha] One of her team said proudly on the comms, making Nik shake her head with a smile.
"Okay, two teams will make sure no one gets out from the two exits," Nik ordered, pressing her earpiece before turning her attention back to Lucian.
"And another team makes sure no one can disturb their fight. If we can provide support, make sure to report it first. We can't afford to make mistakes this time, do you understood?" Nik said seriously, clenching her fist, wanting her team to be more cooperative this time.
[Roger that, my lady] One of the pilots responded as one of the helicopters began to move.
[Copy that] All the team members responded, as they got into position. Nik breathed a sigh of relief and continued to observe Lucian. The scene unfolded before her, a ballet of brutality, a testament to the extraordinary world they had stumbled upon.
The air crackled with anticipation. The impossible had become reality. And Nik, with a determined glint in her eye, was ready to face it head-on.

Sancta Helena: Deck
On the deck, Lucian dodged the blade stabbing toward his face with a practiced ease. Though his eyes widened at the near miss, he remained calm, the blade's proximity a stark reminder that Alexander was far more formidable than Marcus.
"Fuck," Lucian whispered, a tremor of adrenaline running through him. He opened his palm, unleashing a torrent of silver fox fire.
Alexander, caught off guard, leaped back, his eyes narrowing as he surveyed the blazing energy.
"Silver fox fire," he murmured, his voice tinged with curiosity. "I haven't seen that before."
Lucian froze, momentarily stunned by Alexander's quick deduction. 'How did he know?' But the pause was fleeting. In a heartbeat, he conjured another surge of silver fox fire, ready to strike.
"Don't be surprised," Alexander said coldly, his voice a chilling whisper. "As you said, I am old." With a single step, he vanished from sight, his movements as swift and silent as a phantom.
Alexander's senses were honed, his perception sharpened by years of combat. He had sensed Lucian's momentary hesitation, a flicker of vulnerability that he wouldn't miss.
'I need your full cooperation in this one, Cortana,' Lucian said through his mind. As if on cue, Alexander materialized in front of him, his sword slashing down with deadly precision.
Alexander slashed down with his left sword, but a force halted the blade mid-air, causing him to frown. He didn't panic, though. Calmly, he released his grip, allowing the sword to hang suspended in the air.
Lucian crouched low, his eyes fixed on the levitating blade. He knew Cortana was at work. With great timing and cooperation, the silver fox fire erupted from his palm, a fiery torrent aimed at Alexander.
'We need to end this. It's getting harder for me to hold him back,' Cortana's voice echoed in his mind, strained and urgent. 'He's stronger than both of us!' Lucian knew she was right as their psychic abilities were weak in front of Alexander's strength, that is why Cortana was using it timely.
"I know, but I need to catch him off guard," Lucian said, his mind racing. He was determined to land a blow, while trying to find the right time, even if it meant getting hurt again. He knew that he could only use the energy blade as a secret weapon, a card Alexander wouldn't expect him to have.
'Then make sure you don't miss,' Cortana warned, her tone was serious. 'I have a feeling we only get one shot at this.'
Lucian nodded, bracing himself for anything that might happen. He knew this time he will have to take all in the pain, coming his way.
Then Lucian's eyes widened in shock. As he saw Alexander's sword, flying, thrown through from the other side of the silver fox fire, a blur of silver steel striking Lucian square in the shoulder. The impact sent a jolt of pain through his body, forcing him to stumble backward.
While the other sword, falling from the air, was caught effortlessly by Alexander before it could even touch the deck.
'What's the plan?' Cortana asked, her voice a whisper in Lucian's mind. He pulled the sword from his shoulder, ignoring the searing pain.
"Let him kill me," Lucian thought, grim determination hardening his features. This was a desperate gamble, to complete his mission.
Alexander walked towards him, his sword held high, a predator stalking its prey.
"I thought you were young," he said, his voice laced with amusement. "But I know only the oldest Kitsune can use telekinesis like that. It makes this a bit more fair, don't you think?"
Lucian's eyes flickered, a dangerous glint in their depths.
"Maybe," Lucian whispered, his voice barely audible. The shadows cast by the flickering flames danced and shifted, converging around him.
Suddenly, Lucian's silver irises glowed, his black pupils morphing into a striking golden yellow, pulsing with an otherworldly energy. The gold then flickered crimson for a moment before returning to its golden hue, a wave of power rippling through him.
A shimmering silver aura engulfed his body, and four ethereal tails of silver fire emerged from his back.
Then the shadows swirled around him coalesced, forming a protective armor, while his tails morphed into solid, black whips, crackling with raw energy.
"Let's see if this works," Lucian murmured to himself. This was uncharted territory. He'd never faced an opponent worthy of testing this technique before. Now, driven by desperation, he surged forward, his shadow-clad form a blur of motion.
"Interesting," Alexander murmured, his eyes narrowed. He'd never encountered a Kitsune who wielded shadows like this. 'Could he be a Nogitsune? That could explain his disregard for life.' He knew Nogitsune had a tenuous connection to the darkness, but this was something else entirely.
Alexander raised his sword, meeting Lucian's attack with calm confidence.
The clash of steel resonated through the air, a symphony of power and defiance.
Swish! Clang!
Sparks flew as their swords clashed, a shower of incandescent light illuminating the deck. With a flick of his wrist, Alexander's blade struck Lucian, a blow aimed at the ribs, swift and powerful. But as the steel met its mark, Alexander frowned. His sword struck something solid, unyielding like a wall.
"It works," Lucian thought, a flicker of triumph crossing his face. His technique was holding, but he knew it wouldn't last forever. He lashed out again, his sword whistling through the air, aiming for an opening in Alexander's defenses. Each strike was a desperate gamble, a test of timing, hoping to catch Alexander off guard.
Alexander's brow furrowed in confusion. He continued his relentless assault, but the only damage he inflicted was on his own weapon. His sword, meeting Lucian's somewhat unbreakable armor, dulled with each blow.
As the fight raged on, Lucian searched for the perfect opportunity to strike. Unbeknownst to him, Alexander was also biding his time. When Lucian raised his sword, Alexander swiftly drew a silver disk from behind his waist. Pressing the center of the disk, he activated it, causing white smoke to spread out from its edges. With a flick of his wrist, he hurled the disk toward Lucian.
Lucian's eyes widened as he saw what it was from his keen sight, it was the explosive that Alexander used to explode the ship in the movies but the good thing was it was only one, and the bad thing is the sheer force of Alexander's throw made it impossible to dodge.
Boom!
The silver disk exploded, forcing Lucian to drop his sword as his black armor shattered. The shadows receded, returning to their normal state, and Lucian rolled away from the blast, tumbling towards the edge of the ship.
Dazed by the blast, Lucian gritted his teeth and pushed himself to his feet. Cortana's voice, sharp and urgent, echoed in his mind, 'Behind you!'
'Let him, don't stop it!' Lucian shouted in his mind, as he felt this was the opportunity he was waiting for, when sword stabbed through from his back into passing through his stomach.
Lucian slowly turned, taking a step back as blood trickled from his lips.
"It's time to end this, boy," Alexander said calmly, walking towards Lucian. He then plunged the second sword, into Lucian's heart. which Lucian had dropped from the explosion.
Lucian gritted his teeth, fighting back the urge to vomit blood. He grasped Alexander's arm, silently screaming in his mind, 'Now!' Lucian shouted towards Cortana, This was his plan. As a kitsune, his regeneration could even heal a wound to the heart.
And with his connection to the golden tree and his Elven lineage, his regenerative abilities were even stronger.
Employing the same tactics he had used against Marcus, Lucian now turned his attention to Alexander. As Cortana controlled the energy blade handle on Lucian's waist making it fly up and turning it on as the energy blade appeared aiming to cut off Alexander on the waist.
Alexander's senses were already on high alert. He had felt Lucian's grip on his arm and saw the handle rise. Reacting instantly, he used his strength to kick Lucian in the chest with his right foot.
Lucian felt his arms would be ripped from their sockets if he didn't let go. The force of Alexander's kick sent him rolling across the ship's floor, and his eyes widened as he tumbled into the gaping hole leading to Alexander's office. Flames engulfed him, consuming him whole.
Meanwhile, Alexander had used Lucian's body as a launchpad, propelling himself upward to dodge the energy blade. The blade cut cleanly through his right leg, severing it at the thigh, but missing his waist. He landed on the ground with a thud, his single remaining leg unsteady.
His severed leg fell to the floor, and the energy blade deactivated, rolling around the ship's floor.
"This is the first time I've been injured like this," Alexander said, a wry smile playing on his lips as he pressed a hand against his bleeding thigh. His gaze drifted towards the hole, where smoke still billowed, and his eyes narrowed, a mix of emotions swirling within. 'Better to make sure,' he thought, reaching for a stack of silver disks behind his waist. He pressed the center of each disk before tossing them into the fiery abyss.
Boooom!
A massive explosion erupted from the hole, spewing fire and thick, choking smoke into the air. The ship shuddered violently, its hull groaning as it began to sink.
"Finally, finished," Alexander murmured, closing his eyes. Even he was exhausted from the whirlwind of events. Despite his strength, surpassing both vampires and lycans, he lacked their regenerative abilities. His immortality was his only advantage.
Alexander pushed himself off the floor, but froze in mid-motion, as he heard something.
A roar, a deafening sound that seemed to shake the very heavens, ripped through the air. The weather shifted violently around them, responding to the primal power that was unleashed into the world.
Alexander slowly raised his head, his eyes widening in disbelief as he stared into the gaping maw of the hole. From the smoke-filled depths, a colossal claw, forged from shimmering silver fire, erupted.
The air crackled with raw silver fire as the claw descended, its heat scorching his skin even from a distance.
Alexander's heart pounded against his ribs, and he felt something that he had long forgotten when he was a mortal.
He had faced countless foes, but nothing had ever felt this...unstoppable.
This was a power beyond anything he had ever imagined, a force that could obliterate everything in its path.
For the first time in his long, immortal life, Alexander felt truly afraid.
