I felt my grip loosen as I heard Phoebe's mom. It was not an intentional act, but out of utter shock. Phoebe was a hybrid.
A vampire-werewolf hybrid.
I stared at her as she broke down in tears, in denial.
This truth was dangerous, more dangerous than anything we'd faced before. If word spread, the pack would never accept her.
They would fear her and fear made people do terrible things. They wouldn't hesitate to see her as a threat and try to get rid of her.
If the pack found out… No. I wouldn't let that happen.
I didn't care if she was a hybrid, a mermaid or even the devil himself. I loved her with all my heart, she's my Luna.
I clenched my jaw. No one would ever know, no one needed to know. I would keep this secret, bury it deep in me, even if it meant going against every rule and regulation that I knew as an Alpha.
