The room started to fill, the set piece was recognizable and shocking to see in the environment. The Setton main hall was large and oppressively ornate, the chipper set full of a partial kitchenette, a bunch of small puff seats, fur rugs and wood mosaic background that were the usual aesthetic of the Quills was out of place in the dominating hall. The seats filled as Cerez guided her to the front row. Her ear pricked at soft sounds she heard in the background. They seemed very familiar. A curtain protected the product that they were unveiling. It was massive. The lights in the room flashed when the room was finally full. Sirona hopped on stage, a bouncy little distraction. Monil came out with his Teere and started strumming.
"Hi everyone, you know me, and I love you. Thank you for watching our very, very special Feather Presentation!" Sirona cheerfully and theatrically emoted for the streaming sphere. "Today is such a special day for my family. I am going to sing you a special song from the North. I hope you like it. It is probably going to be new to you. My daddy translated the lyrics for me. Ready." Sirona said, smiling at Monil.
"Ready Rona." Monil said as he picked up and started to strum an old rhythmic song. It was a popular single from eight hundred years ago.
'Just what have they been up to? It seems huge.' Vida Halid kept a neutral look on her face. Her voice was enchanting. The song was about unity, asking them to stop sacrificing their children to war and begging for peace. The girl had a beautiful voice, just like her mother and the presence of Allurai. She was very entertaining to watch.
"I beg you for peace, let my people go out to where the sun shines." Fiona and Ivy started to sing along with their sister beside her and Cerez. Their sweet, melodious voices stunned Vida. They had inherited it from their mother for sure, she did not sound this good when she tried. They stood and went to join their sister on stage. Vida felt a tear run from the corner of her eyes. She heard Astra, and Kelly start singing loudly and join their sisters. Gasps were heard from her friends as their grandchildren joined in the song. Nora finally joined in at the end, singing sweetly and solemnly.
"Lay your weapons and hatred down, let this nonsense stop, for the people's lives are more important. You know what to do. They are not to be sacrificed for the disagreements of the few." The room dimmed, and the girls filed off-stage. A polite applause rang out across the room. Nora stood on the stage.
"There is a Northern custom, called a Birthday. We used to celebrate the anniversary of the date we were born. We did not have the benefit of close monitoring. So we did not celebrate special anniversaries like the rest of the world. Today I have invited you here for a very special birthday party and a gift that I have for all of you." Nora said.
"We have released a special set for this day. You shall receive it in your food deliveries from Halid. It includes a cake and some special surprises Sirona will tell you about later." Astra said in her show voice.
"My own mother did not find out about myself and my sister until she could not stand the smell of cooking meat and finally tested herself. With all my children, I could not stand fish. As you know, I have a lot of daughters and there is a special reason why," Nora said.
"After genetic testing I found out that my own Matriarch had imparted me with a gift, I stand here as the first naturally cured Matriarch on the planet." Nora said. Gasps were heard from the audience.
"I knew it." Saeri quietly muttered.
"I would appreciate it if those in the audience would stay silent and keep all questions to the end and off stream." Nora asked politely. "Secondly, my daughters and son are also cured and no longer have to worry about that problem with fish bothering me. Janel, can you come up here?" Nora asked. Monil looked at his shy spouse with admiration. He had been practicing for the past three days. Nora would kill him when she found out he knew. She would probably piece it together since he had helped with creating this second studio here.
"This is my best friend Janel. Monil is also a close friend to the family as well and actually runs Quill Entertainment on my behalf. You know him as well as a producer, musician, actor and director of many of the shows you will see in our catalog. They are also here to celebrate with us today. Janel has been partners with Monil for five years now. Janel, like billions of doctors, have been working on the cure tirelessly for hundreds of years. Monil, can you pull the curtain? I think seeing is better than explaining," Nora said.
"Most of you will recognize this as a regular S-level breeding rack with two compartments. The rack is fully matured, as you can see by its enlarged size." Janel explained, his voice cracked briefly in stress.
"On this rack, two very important people are about to share an important birthday. My daughter Hope Quill and their daughter Eve Morrit. The first Bitas born females. I donated my own genetic information and cells to Janel to recreate the blank ovum." Nora explained.
"You will see in the upcoming graphic as we zoom in on the difference in the new cells. That is correct, there was a mutation to the mitochondria that was only detectable with a comparison with her genetic sample. We were able to restore the original mitochondria, which will enable us to repair others and restore fully healed clones to add to the genetic pool. As far as reproduction goes, you will see that nature knows of the imbalance," Janel explained.
'This is why we are all gathered here. In case we are attacked as allies. This was huge. I was right to pause the deliveries for today. I am in the safest place possible.' Vida thought.
"In these graphics you will see that female embryos are being produced by two male parents naturally. In this graphic you will see Janel's templates interact with male gametes. After the insemination hormone is added, the ovum consistently sends out the signal that they are now fertilized, the excess has now died, and we will speed up time until it is ready for implantation. Here is the testing needle. Here is the subsequent test. Here are three more fertilizations, and again we will elapse the time faster and test the embryo's. Three out of four embryos are female. We have seen similar results in other samples. At different percentages. This would rule out a reverse response of a society of mostly women." Nora said.
"Before these girls are born, it can be very graphic. I invite parents to turn their children's feeds to Sirona's side presentation. Do not worry children, you will be able to see them after they are all cleaned up when Sirona meets her sister and cousin. I also want to say that if anything should happen to us, the cure will be made available to all immediately." Nora said.
"Come everyone, let's go and enjoy story time, songs, games and prizes in Rona's playroom. I have prepared a lot of presents for us, and you can vote for Hope and Eve's first outfits." Sirona said as she bounced up in front of the camera. She grabbed a streaming staff and held it up as she crooned. "My Children's club is all lined up, let's go little Dozins." Sirona said in her sing-song voice. Her daughters all waved at the sphere. Astra started hamming it up with her sister. The children all marched out the room, the adults in the room were still shocked, looking at the racks on the stage.
'Thankfully this child takes after her Liem, maybe she has a little of my Dad in her. He wasn't too bad. He was very magnetic and a great public speaker.' Nora thought as they disappeared. She was so nervous. Talan had started getting busy in the background. Liem signed to her. We are behind you, keep going.
"Now those who wanted to join Sirona have. It is time for the birth." Nora said and rolled the streaming stand closer to the rack. Janel pressed a button. The protective covering slackened and rolled. An incision was made along the pieces of uterine tissue. Fluid drained out. The tissue bled. Nora had donned a surgical gown and gloves with Janel. She was insistent that she would do this part. She spread the tissue using the equipment and pulled her daughter out of the equipment. She quickly cleared her airways on a bed and wiped her off before clamping and cutting the umbilical cord. Her daughter was beautiful, she looked just like Kelly. She swaddled her softly.
