Xu Ying kicked small stones as she unhappily headed back home.
Mrs. Xu was overjoyed when she saw her daughter, pulling her into the kitchen immediately, "Try the fish I made, how is it?"
Mrs. Xu praised my skills with a face full of enthusiasm.
Xu Ying looked at the sweet and sour carp her mother had made—it looked good. She picked up her chopsticks and took a bite, then chewed a few times with a look of surprise, "Mom, it's delicious."
Her mom's cooking skills had improved by leaps and bounds!
Mrs. Xu, seeing her daughter compliment the fish she made, smiled so wide her lips nearly reached her ears, "As long as it's delicious, that's what matters."
It wasn't for nothing that she had spent so long learning.
"Little sister, go inside for now," Third Brother Xu said, holding some firecrackers and hanging them on the clothes rack in the courtyard.
Xu Ying saw this and ran under the eaves with her hands covering her ears.
