Three people had just left when Qu Huimin arrived with Bai Yushui, the two following close behind.
Glancing at the salesclerk, she demanded, "Where did Xu Ying and the others go? Take me to them."
The salesclerk looked Qu Huimin up and down with curiosity and asked, "What's your relationship with Minister Xu?"
Qu Huimin replied curtly, "Classmate."
"Classmate, then you'll have to wait a bit," said the salesclerk, unsure whether the girl was telling the truth.
Qu Huimin remembered that Xu Ying had just taken out a newspaper, so she immediately picked up a newspaper too, holding her head high with a look of pride.
The salesclerk gave her a disdainful glance, muttered a curse under her breath about her being annoying, and turned her attention back to serving other customers.
Qu Huimin was bewildered and indignantly scolded the salesclerk, "How can you treat people differently? When Xu Ying held up a newspaper, you let her in. Why won't you do the same for me?"
