The siblings split up.
Lu Mei didn't ask why they were looking for Ding Yumian, trusting that Lu Jun had his own reasoning, just like when they dealt with the Black Vatican in Bo City.
Meanwhile, Lu Jun headed to the police station to search for the address of a pair of beautiful twin sisters named Liu Xian and Liu Ru. Both were ordinary people.
The reason for seeking them out was that they had been specifically targeted by vampires a rare breakthrough.
The elder sister, Liu Xian, was brutally murdered four months later, while the younger sister, Liu Ru, was turned into a member of the Blood Tribe six months later.
Fortunately, at the time, Mo Fan had been struggling to track down the Blood Tribe and discovered Liu Ru before the vampire could inject her with Source Blood, which would have made her a direct descendant of the vampire family in other words, a slave to the higher-ranking Blood Tribe members.
But calling it a true rescue wouldn't be accurate. The core issue remained unresolved, deeply rooted, and in the future, beautiful young women would continue to be preyed upon in the shadows.
Liu Ru, an ordinary girl who had longed for a peaceful life, ultimately became what she despised the most a member of the Blood Tribe.
The only silver lining was that the Source Blood she absorbed came from Mo Fan. While he was undoubtedly a womanizer, he was at least not a depraved and disgusting creature like the vampires.
Of course, Lu Jun took on this case not just because it was convenient but because he was highly interested in the Blood Tribe.
Whether it was Liu Ru's transformation after absorbing Demon Blood, giving her strength comparable to a Warrior, or the ancient vampire ancestor Bola, who slumbered within the Parthenon Temple and once declared that vampires were merely the servants of demons everything pointed to a deep connection between the Blood Tribe and the Demonic Element.
Lu Jun intended to study the power of the Blood Tribe as a potential cursed material for his Curse Element magic.
Many Curse Mages carried the Curse of the Blood Tribe, which granted them enhanced physical endurance, vitality, occasional shadow manipulation, and mental charm abilities all of which fit seamlessly into Lu Jun's system.
If he could integrate the Blood Tribe's abilities into his Curse Element, refining them to a high-level standard comparable to Soul Seeds, it would become another trump card on par with his High-Level Water Element.
Most importantly, Lu Jun wanted to use this as a stepping stone to explore the Demonic Element.
The Demonic Element's side effects were too severe, and he was unwilling to undergo an awakening.
However, he had discovered another problem dual-element mages had an inherent flaw: they struggled to fully unleash the potential of multiple elements. The best solution, ironically, was the Demonic Element, which fused all magic systems and elevated them beyond even Fusion Magic.
Lu Jun pondered whether the characteristics of the Curse Element could allow him to contain the Demonic Element, making him the first mage in history to bear the Curse of the Demon.
A method of harnessing Berserk Power with lower costs and greater control.
Of course, he was mentally prepared for the fact that this version would be far inferior to the original Demonic Element. But as long as it allowed him to fight High-Level opponents at the Mid-Level, or Super-Level opponents at the High-Level, he would be satisfied.
"There's no harm in trying. At worst, the Curse Element can take the Blood Tribe route or perhaps integrate the curses of the Ancient King, the Pharaohs, or the Divine Tree Well."
Lu Jun muttered to himself. Among his six elements, the one he had the greatest expectations for wasn't his dominant Water Element, nor even his Metal Element, but the seemingly insignificant Curse Element.
Water and Metal: Crying so we were just backup plans all along?!
Other magic elements, when cultivated to their peak, still left one as a human at best reaching the level of Hua's Commander-in-Chief or the Ancient King in his mortal life, capable of taking down only minor rulers at best.
But the Curse Element had limitless potential Curse Possession Techniques, countless bizarre and unique cursed materials…
Lu Jun understood the direction the world was heading. Only by transcending humanity could one break past limitations and protect themselves.
He had studied various magic systems and realized that the four branches of Dark Magic were the easiest to connect with non-human entities. Other non-human techniques, such as those from the Parthenon Temple or the Sacred City, were out of his reach.
"Sigh, there's no other way. Black Magic originates from the Dark Plane tsk tsk, to be precise, from the Dark King!"
Thinking of this, Lu Jun shook his head. The only existence in the original work that remained unfathomable the Dark King was so unfathomably powerful that even a Sovereign-level mage at the pinnacle of all magic was nothing more than a mere plaything before it.
He quickly refocused. With the information he had provided, the police station locked onto the home of the Liu sisters, Liu Xian and Liu Ru, within minutes.
This was only possible because Lu Jun was a Senior Hunter affiliated with the Hunter Union, which had an official partnership with Clear Sky Hunter Agency, allowing him to access public records.
After obtaining the address, he immediately set off for their home.
About twenty minutes later, Lu Jun arrived at an old street and spotted a well-maintained house.
The house had two floors, with the residential area connected to a shop on the ground floor.
The second floor was adorned with a variety of flowers, with some vines creeping along the walls, adding a touch of vibrancy to the aged structure. It seemed like a cozy place to live.
A small courtyard in the back held a grape trellis, with its branches swaying gently in the breeze.
Knock, knock, knock!
Lu Jun knocked on the door and called out, "Is anyone home?"
"Oh, yes. Hello, you are…?"
Shortly after, a delicate and intelligent-looking girl opened the door. She greeted him with a polite smile, though her eyes still carried the lively energy of youth.
She paused for a moment upon seeing Lu Jun's sharp and chiseled features, his black-gold trench coat giving off a heavy and imposing aura. She couldn't help but think he's kind of handsome.
Liu Ru had originally thought that her sister's boyfriend, Nie Dong, was handsome enough to be considered a top-tier heartthrob. But compared to Lu Jun, Nie Dong lacked presence and charisma.
While she was still in a daze, a bold and lively voice came from inside the house.
"Ah Ru, who's at the door? Why are you just standing there?"
As she spoke, another girl who looked identical in appearance and build walked over. The difference was in their demeanor she was dressed more provocatively, exuding a sultry and mature aura, carrying an unmistakable big-sister vibe.
Upon seeing Lu Jun, Liu Xian was momentarily surprised, but her tone softened as she asked, "Who are you, and what do you need?"
Lu Jun observed the two sisters and could easily distinguish the elder from the younger.
Calmly, he took out his identification and said in an indifferent tone, "I'm a Senior Hunter from the Hunter Union. I'm here to inquire about a few homicide cases specifically related to your boyfriend, Nie Dong."
Upon hearing the word homicide, Liu Ru's expression visibly tensed with fear.
However, Liu Xian's reaction was far more peculiar her face was filled with shock.
Suddenly, her demeanor turned cold. She began pushing against Lu Jun and said, "Shoo, shoo! My sister and I are just ordinary people. These cases have nothing to do with us!"
Bang!
Before he could respond, the door was slammed shut. From inside, Liu Xian's muffled voice came through, "Leave. You're not welcome here."
Lu Jun remained expressionless, as if he had expected this outcome.
Such a reaction definitely suspicious.
This was exactly what he wanted stirring the grass to startle the snake.
It seems the sisters have been in contact with the vampire Nie Dong for quite some time.
Lu Jun thought to himself, recalling the original events. Liu Xian was fated to die four months later, but she had already been involved with Nie Dong for some time.
However, Nie Dong had a violent nature and struggled to control his bloodlust. One day, while feeding, he accidentally drained Liu Xian dry, leaving her as nothing but a husk exposing himself in the process.
This enraged the Hunter Union, and Nie Dong's vampire family cast him out. He was eventually hunted down and killed by Mo Fan.
