(Charlotte's POV)
I blinked slowly, the brightness of the white hospital room stinging my eyes.
My head throbbed dully, and I felt an uncomfortable heaviness settle over my body.
Everything felt foggy, like I had just emerged from a dream I couldn't quite remember.
As my vision cleared, I saw two figures looming over me, their eyes wide with worry.
"Charlotte? Oh my God, you're awake," my mother gasped, reaching forward and gently cupping my cheek. Her hands trembled slightly.
My father stood beside her, his brows furrowed in concern, but there was a visible sigh of relief that escaped his chest.
"Thank goodness," he whispered. "We were so worried."
I tried to sit up, but a sharp sting in my head made me wince.
"Hey, easy, sweetheart," my mother said gently. "You had quite a fall. Just relax."
"What... what happened? Why am I here?" My voice sounded dry and strange, even to my own ears.
My father quickly reached for a cup of water and helped me take a few slow sips.
