Blob answered right away. His tone calm, matter-of-fact.
"A Bone Frame is the energy left behind when a Supreme Expert dies."
Max didn't interrupt. He let Blob continue.
"This energy stays underground. Locked there for tens of thousands of years. Maybe more."
"And then?" Max asked.
"It condenses," Blob replied. "Turns into a crystal. Usually a smooth glass bead. That's the Bone Frame you know."
Max remembered Klaus showing him one. Small. Quiet. Innocent-looking.
"Most Bone Frames are just energy," Blob continued. "No soul. No thought. Just power. The will of the expert usually fades away long before it condenses."
Max nodded. That made sense.
"But not always," Blob said. "There are exceptions."
Max raised an eyebrow. "What kind of exceptions?"
"Sometimes… the soul refuses to disappear," Blob said. "Maybe the expert was too strong. Maybe they practiced some twisted technique. Whatever the reason, their soul clings to the world."
