The blazing black current that had been rising like a funeral flame was suddenly pushed back.

Its monstrous eyes swept across the world in utter disregard, and then—wings.

Rocks from distant cliffs lifted into the air like feathers in a breeze.
Mountains— actual mountains—torn up, flung into the sky like debris.
