Chapter 181 - Chapter 181: The Training Plan

Chapter 181: The Training Plan

After contemplating the situation all night, Yang Potian met with his father and grandfather early the next morning to discuss the coming year of training for his sister, Tianyue. Only Yang Potian, Yang Zhentian, and Yang Wudi were present, as it was unnecessary for anyone else to be involved at this stage.

Seeing the serious look on his son's face, Yang Zhentian asked, "Potian, you've invested a great deal of effort in this Sea God inheritance. Even if you didn't obtain it, it's still a blessing that your sister did. I'm sure even greater opportunities await you in the future."

Yang Potian shook his head. "Dad, it's not about disappointment over not receiving the inheritance myself; the issue is with the trials that come with the Sea God's inheritance. The Sea God's assessment is incredibly rigorous, and with Tianyue's current strength, she has little chance of passing."

He continued, "Even Tang Chen, at level 99 and hailed as the invincible force of the land, failed his divine test and was left barely alive. Tianyue is still so young, and these trials may very well prove to be impossible for her."

Hearing this, both Yang Zhentian and Yang Wudi's expressions grew more serious. It became clear that the Sea God's inheritance was not so easily acquired.

Yang Wudi asked, "Then what should we do? If the trials are truly that challenging, sending Tianyue there would be like sending her to her death. And now that she's bonded to the Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud, I doubt she can back out."

Yang Potian sighed, taking out several items: the 100,000-year Blue Silver Emperor right leg bone, the 100,000-year Titan Giant Ape right arm bone, and the 70,000-year White-Eyed Demon Tiger King right arm bone.

Seeing these treasures, Yang Wudi and Yang Zhentian were both stunned. They hadn't expected Potian to acquire another rare spirit bone so soon.

Yang Potian explained, "The Sea God's trials demand a high level of strength—eventually requiring level 99. In the past century, only Poseidon Douluo Bo Saixi, Tang Chen, and Qian Daoliu have reached such power. Tianyue will need to be at least level 65 before going to Sea God Island to have any chance of succeeding. My plan is for her to absorb these two 100,000-year spirit bones to enhance her abilities. I'll also take her to the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well for body refining."

Yang Zhentian objected, "Potian, the Ice and Fire Body Refining process is indeed beneficial, but it is extremely risky. We don't even have the Eight-Petal Immortal Orchid or Fiery Apricot Delicate, which means she'd be facing near-certain death."

Yang Potian took out two jade boxes—one radiating cold and the other hot—both seeming extraordinary. Inside one was a fiery, jelly-like substance; the other contained a crystalline chunk of ice.

"These are concentrated essences from the Eight-Petal Immortal Orchid and the Fiery Apricot Delicate," he explained. "They should serve as a substitute for the plants. With my help, it should be manageable. I believe that with this training, Tianyue can reach level 65 before heading to Sea God Island. If possible, I'd also like her to obtain another 100,000-year spirit bone to further ensure her success."

He added, "Also, all of her future spirit rings should be powerful enough to push her limits and ideally possess water-attribute, strong-offense traits to better equip her for the divine trials."

After listening to Yang Potian's detailed plan, Yang Zhentian and Yang Wudi grew even more somber, realizing that the Sea God's trials were far more challenging than they had imagined.

Yang Zhentian asked, "So what do we need to do now? Is there anything specific to watch out for?"

Yang Potian turned to Yang Wudi instead of answering directly. "Grandfather, how long would it take to make two Explosive Soul Pills? I might need one or two more."

Yang Wudi looked shocked. "Potian, you're not planning on adding another ring to your core spirit, are you? That could seriously limit your growth after level 90."

Potian shook his head. "There's no other choice. I need to quickly obtain another 100,000-year spirit bone that doesn't overlap with our current pieces, so I'll be going to the Star Dou Forest. I'll only add one more ring to my core spirit. It won't interfere with my growth too much."

He continued, "Also, we should have Uncle create a high-gravity training environment for Ping'an, Niú Měng, Lingling, and Sister Yan so they can advance faster and hopefully reach level 60 within the year. We should also make sure they receive the whale marrow we acquired. It'll enhance their physical strength and spirit power."

Yang Wudi questioned, "But if they're not taking the Sea God trials, is this level of training really necessary?"

Yang Potian explained, "Sea God Island is a remarkable place. Although the main divine inheritance is reserved for a single successor, other spirit masters can also undergo tests and challenges there to improve their strength. I intend to bring them along to train and grow stronger."

He then turned to Yang Zhentian. "Dad, you and Mom should accompany Tianyue and me to the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. Once Tianyue completes her refining, she'll stay there to train under Mom's guidance with gravity-augmented conditions to speed up her cultivation."

Yang Wudi agreed. "I can prepare the two Explosive Soul Pills within three days."

Over the next few days, while Yang Wudi was refining the pills, the other family members consumed the whale marrow and experienced notable improvements. Each member saw an increase of at least one level in spirit power, along with significant physical strengthening.

Meanwhile, Yang Potian called Yang Ping'an to him, handing him the 70,000-year White-Eyed Demon Tiger King right arm bone.

Ping'an gazed at the precious spirit bone in admiration, but respectfully declined, "Big Brother, I can't accept this. You've already done so much for me. Besides, you don't even have all your spirit bones yet."

Yang Potian reassured him, "Ping'an, consider this a gift from the clan. If you wish to repay me, then continue training hard and support the Yang family."

Ping'an accepted the spirit bone with determination. "Don't worry, Big Brother. I'll do my best to strengthen myself and fight for our family. I won't let you or our elders down."

Yang Potian nodded in approval. He understood that on the continent of Douluo, the stability and strength of one's family could mean everything, and it took dedication from each generation to ensure the clan's survival.

Reflecting on the original story, Potian recalled how some criticized Tang Hao for seeming overly dedicated to his sect. But without the sect's support, how could Tang Hao have obtained such high-level spirit bones or achieved so much? Everything was ultimately a result of the sect's nurturing.

During these few days, something both trivial and significant happened. After Dugu Yan, being a girl, absorbed the potent spirit-boosting whale marrow, it triggered an aphrodisiac effect, putting her in a trance-like state. Dugu Bo, her grandfather, was rather embarrassed and unsure how to handle the situation alone. Awkwardly, he approached Yang Potian, asking him to "take responsibility" for Dugu Yan, alluding to an old incident where Potian had unintentionally seen her in a vulnerable state. This left Potian speechless.

Although Yang Potian wasn't entirely innocent, he didn't want to impulsively enter a similar situation as he had once with Ye Lingling. To avoid further complications, he devised a plan with Dugu Bo to cool Dugu Yan's system down. Together, they brought her to an icy pool within a snowy landscape, allowing the frigid water to counteract the effects of the whale marrow.

In the frigid pool, Dugu Yan's appearance took on an enchanting, exotic allure. Before Yang Potian could fully admire her, he was promptly shooed away by Dugu Bo, who was determined to protect his granddaughter, leaving Potian feeling awkward. Afterwards, Dugu Yan's demeanor toward him changed subtly—her glances carried a trace of playfulness, almost a hint of something more.

Later, Dugu Bo confronted Potian, grumbling, "You little rascal! What on earth were you thinking with that harebrained idea? Now Yan'er keeps complaining to me about it!"

Yang Potian laughed, "Dugu Grandpa, this whale marrow is a family secret! I only told you because we're close. Otherwise, I'd have kept it under wraps. But you can't deny how well it works for spirit masters, can you?"

Dugu Bo nodded. "The whale marrow worked wonders; Yan'er's spirit power rose by one level, and her physical endurance improved. How did you discover this, Potian? Did you overindulge one day and stumble upon its effects?"

Yang Potian sighed, "Dugu Grandpa, that's a wild accusation! Couldn't it have been something my grandfather discovered? Or a family secret passed down within the Yang Clan?"

Dugu Bo chuckled. "I know your two grandfathers. They're as tough as they come; your second grandpa is so single-minded he never even married. I can't picture them uncovering such a delicacy. And as for this 'family secret,' if your clan had known about it, they wouldn't have struggled to produce even a single Spirit Douluo in the past."

He added, "I heard that when your family first came to Heaven Dou City, your father Yang Zhentian bought up loads of whale marrow, sparking rumors that he was in poor health. I remember thinking, 'How could a senior spirit master be in such bad shape?' Turns out this whole scheme was concocted by you, wasn't it?"

Potian shrugged. "Had I not done it, we would never have managed to buy whale marrow so cheaply. If people knew about its real effects, the price would have skyrocketed tenfold, and then no one could afford it."

After some further conversation, Dugu Bo sighed thoughtfully. "Little monster, what do you think of Yan'er? I know she's quite fond of you. Why not make her your girlfriend?"

Yang Potian was silent for a moment, then replied, "Yan is a great person—strong, smart, and beautiful. But relationships need more than just that. I've always seen her as an older sister, and with everything happening lately, it's not something I've given much thought to. Let's leave that for the future."

Dugu Bo shook his head, saying, "You think too much, Potian. Whatever happens, we elders are here to shoulder the burdens. Even if it's the Spirit Hall, they won't bring us down so easily."

Yang Potian sighed. Who could truly predict the future? For now, the land seemed peaceful, but in just a few short years, war would erupt across the continent, with many sects facing destruction. And in a decade, the continent would be swept up in an unprecedented divine battle, forever reshaping Douluo.
