CHAPTER 14 – The town of Valdorheim
I need to thank the god that showed me that view, at first glance he was just an ordinary guy
But he turned me from a boy to a man I need to thank that guy- no that god from now on I must worship him
I turned back to see that God to thank that god
'You have now become a man, take this money now you may find heaven on earth with this money'
He handed me a pouch full of golden coins I was shocked to see that, but I felt there was something else to do before getting shocked
'But what's your name?'
He replied while walking away from me he raised his hand up and replied in a calm voice
'My name does not matter for now shall the day come where our paths cross You may repay me'
The words held weight they were words from a man- No, a God who turned me into a man
But I wonder what this heaven God has told me about is or even where is it.
Well, I was planning to roam around the city anyways so might as well have a motive in mind
I started roaming around the town
The town was big and beautiful with water fountains and a lot of water-based structures with people wishing on them
Some were tossing a coin upon the well mostly the rich that is while some were just praying with their hands joint
Some were praying with their lovers while some with family it felt like one of those wish granting temples in Kenji's stories
While strolling around I reached an area with only houses no shops just houses
The houses were mostly white purely white as if indicating that only rich people live in that area
the houses had multiple floors each had their own little garden with different flowers
The flowers were beautiful complimenting the white-ness of the building with their colors
Calming atmosphere, and beautiful as well soothing too it was so refreshing just to imagine owning such house
It was truly a pleasant sight
I wanted to buy such house I really did want to live there the atmosphere pulled me towards it
I didn't think much about it and continued to walk down the streets at that moment
I walked
I continued to walk, and I saw merchants' shops and after these I reached the area that one might call
The slums
They were just as a person would imagine they look like underdeveloped, and the people were not as happy as the people were in the earlier areas
The merchant area did most certainly have a serious atmosphere, but it was expected since trades are a serious matter to talk about
The merchant area was indeed not as bright as the other ones, and it was deep in town
Mostly the merchants were just leaving in their carriage after a little discussion, or they were loading their products and other stuff
And sending it to the neighboring nation or other faraway nations I'm not especially sure that it could be called a merchant area
But meh the merchants called it the merchant's area so, who am I to judge?
But this area it had the atmosphere of sorrow regret envy and at last 'hatred'
I could feel it very well in the air the people had hatred on their mind hatred towards the king hatred towards the rich
Hatred towards almost everything and anything
It was night by the time I reached the slums the supposedly worst part of the city
But the thing was that I did not feel an ounce of hatred towards this area, but I felt pity for them
Not because they are poor but because they were lost, they felt hatred towards everything while the thing they hate the most is themselves
For not being able to get out of the slums
'...'
I truly didn't feel like anything could help these people these people are in the slums because of their mistakes
'Their fault' the only thing that could come to my mind was 'their fault' not the worlds fault
Their refusal to work is what led them here
While it is true that some of them are here not because of their fault but their generation's debt or another reason
So, I feel pity for some of them at least
In the close distance I happened to see a child get kicked out of the little settlement that is arguably an extra small version of a house
Built with fragile material and had a look like it could break any second now, but it was still intact somehow that is
The child had red hairs
He looked arguably Nobel considering he lived in the slums he looked at me and then he clicked his tongue
He looked disgusted to look at me it felt like he is the one pitying me rather than me being the one pitying him
It made me a little angry, but I decided to let it go since he was just a little fragile child
He walked towards me he had quite a menacing look on his face despite being a kid
He looked like he was near 12-13 years old not that old just in his teenage years the rebellious phase at that
He walked towards me
'Hey old guy why are you here in the slums shouldn't you be enjoying your rich people life in the good area'
'Why interact with us low lives?'
He said those words to me who he just met I don't even look like a bad guy I wonder why he would think that about me it isn't like I'm some big shot
A rich guy who just inherited a big load of money and a house and a big boobs lady as my fiancée
Those words truly pissed me off why this little brat would think that I'm a rich bastard who would look down on the poor
I am a normal citizen despite my past experiences and wrong-doings now I walk the good path of a good citizen
