Winter tried calling Blue. Blue obviously did not accept his call. Instead, he sent a single text.

Winter read the text and was overcome with concern. He couldn't stop himself from sending a response to Blue.

Winter was not so foolishly prideful that he would not apologize whether he was or was not in the wrong. So far as he was dealing with Blue, of all people, he would always be in the wrong if Blue got upset.
He and Blue were both very stubborn. So between the two of them, Winter had long chosen to be the one who would take things with ease, since Blue obviously wasn't going to slow down or accept things he had the power to change.
Winter got a response from Blue that made his jaw drop.
