"I told you it was a bad idea!" shouted Nojiko at Aden, who was currently twitching on the deck with occasional sparks coming off him.
"I agree with miss navigator, captain. That was dumb." added Robin.
"If i didn't know better, i'd say you're trying to kill yourself." Buggy shook his head.
"Guys i told you..*zzt* I have to figure it out.*zzt*. I managed to redirect most of it. That counts for something." Aden defended himself as he slowly stood up, after a kther failed attempt.
"While i'll admit that was impressive, we really can't afford being stupid." Nojiko admitted, rolling her eyes.
Aden has decided to try and control lightning. During the current storm, he flew up and waited. This storm was less severe than the one that knocked him out, so he felt it would be good practice. He managed to use his power to redirect most of the lightning's energy, but still got zapped quite a bit. This however proved, he could do it with practice. And who knows, later he might even be able to create lightning. If the tricks he has now are any indication, it seemed highly possible. He was beginning to suspect his Devil Fruit was not a simple wind element fruit, and was in fact something completely different.
Logia types are just that, a single element. But at the rate he was going, he will control a lot more than just wind.
"I'm close i can feel it. Just a bit more and i will have lightning in my bag of tricks." Aden thought as he got ready for another try.
"Oh god he's gonna try again isn't he?" Nojiko complained.
"It would seem so. Captain is rather determined." said Robin with a hint of respect.
Aden flew towards the raging sky, preparing to try and redirect lightning once again.
Taking a deep breath, he began to rapidly pulse the air close to his skin.
This was a similar process he used to create flames, just a bit more precise. The vibration of the hot and cold air molecules caused them to build up a static charge similar to what happens to storm clouds.
As he waited for a lightning strike, he began to let off small sparks of his own.
As expected, lightning struck him soon.
*ZZZZZT - *CRRCKKK
Aden was hit by the lightning, and at the moment of impact, he focused on letting the lightning charge travel around his skin, and out of his extended arm.
*BZZZ* *CRCHHH* (apologies, i suck at writing sound effects.)
The lightning traveled from his left hand, which was extended towards the sky, around his entire body and out of his two extended fingers on his right hand aiming into the distance.
"I didn't even feel the heat this time. I perfectly redirected the lightning. And i think i can make lightning now as well, which just makes me feel strange. This all feels too easy to do. I'll figure that out later. For now, let's get out of this storm." Aden thought as he descended back to the ship.
"Did he just..?" Nojiko started.
"You know...I think i'm just gonna accept he does the impossible, and stop being shocked." said Buggy with a sweatdrop.
"Heheh. Captain sure is amazing." Robin giggled, at the pun. She was shocked as well, though. She expected him to be strong, but this was ridiculous. She seems to have made the right choice with trusting him.
.
A navy ship was traveling through a storm, with a mission to catch pirates wherever they may be. The captain was a rugged man, with an eyepatch on his left eye, wearing a classic navy captain suit and coat, with a huge gun on his back.
He was currently standing at the bow of the ship with his second in command, watching the storm.
When suddenly *BZZZT-WHOOOSH*
A lightning flew directly in front of them, sideways, from their starboard side.
"What the...? A sideways lightning?!" the second in command exclaimed in surprise.
"Calm down for god's sake. This is Grand Line. Weather here is weird." the captain said without a second thought.
.
Some time after Aden's shocking display, the Calamity Pirates have finaly left the storm behind.
Suddenly, Aden heard a barely audible *diiiiingg*. as if from a great distance. Which must have been quite far away, since even he barely heard it.
This caused him to look all around, confusing his friends.
"What's wrong?" asked Buggy, with others looking over curiously.
"Nothing. I think i just heard a bell or something." Aden said, waving whatever it was off.
Aden has decided to figure out his elemental attacks. Seeing as his wind mastery was rather advanced, he spent a few days on the next island, practicing. The island was uninhabited as far as he sensed, so it was a perfect opportunity. The others went to gather fruits and hunt for some animals, while he stayed on the beach, practicing.
After focusing on advancing his other elemental attacks, he learned that the more he focused on a single one, the faster his mastery grew. This confused him a bit, but ultimately he decided to leave it be. Because in order to be harder to kill, he had to get better, faster and stronger.
After hours spent training, his ice, fire and lightning abilities grew to new heights.
Before, he could use his ice after focusing for a while, but now he could just create ice almost instantly. The same went for flames. He simply concentrated the air in a certain way to support ignition, and from there he could control the temperature and shape of the flames.
And last was his lightning. He now could create lightning near instantly and by ionizing the air in a certain path(which he still had no idea how he did that, but it worked) he could give the charge a direction to follow. Or he could just release it in a certain direction, and let the lightning follow the path of least resistance.
He even decided to fit into the name 'Four Winds', and fully categorized his abilities as such. Ice attacks would fall within North, Fire would be South, vacuum and wind attacks would be East, and lightning was put into the West column.
They gave him such a name, and he thought why not to capitalize on it. The name was fitting, so he decided to fit the name.
"Is it safe now? You've been slinging lightning and glassing the beach for hours." Buggy complained, standing behind a tree with only his head floating closer to Aden. The others simply came out of the woods, carrying bags of meat in Nojiko's case, and Robin brought bags of fruit. Her original right hand was holding a book, her left held a tea cup currently being sipped from, she had two extra pairs of arms on her back carrying the bags, and an extra arm on her left side holding a saucer for the tea cup.
Shaking his head at seeing the mass of limbs, amAdennjust shook his head.
"Yes we can go. If the Log Pose is set, i mean." he said looking at Nojiko, slightly out of breath.
"Not yet. It's still freaking out, trying to lock onto a magnetic field." said Nojiko as she checked her wrist.
"Well i guess we have some time, then. Let's make some drying racks and dry some of the meat and fruits. The rest can be just tossed in a barrel and i can fill it with ice to create a makeshift freezer. Meat and fruit in different barrels, obviously.
"Obviously." Robin nodded, not even asking a out the ice part, as she and others saw the sharp pillars of ice on the beach, with pieces of ice floating in the water. Parts of the beach were covered in those pillars, some had large patches of glass, and there were thick blackened lines of glass crisscrossing the beach.
"Well, i am impressed, captain. I refuse to be surprised anymore, but i am impressed." said Buggy looking around, his body finaly joining his head.
.
In a huge room, somewhere in the world, a group of old men sat in a meeting.
"We can not ignore it any longer. That fruit has appeared. If he is left unchecked,it would spell trouble." said one.
"I agree, but i advise caution. That fruit avoided us for a long time. At one point even we had no clue of its existence, and now it found a user." said another.
"Do we just increase the bounty on his head, or do we send someone to get rid of him?" asked third.
"And have the fruit disappear again? No. I say we wait. It may be risky, but it could also help us in the long run. We have executed all our plans well so far. Too well to risk losing it all now." suggested the fourth.
"Hmm...We shall wait and see how he develops. But if we see him getting too powerful, we will act." said the fifth, getting nods of agreement from the others.
As they agreed on what to do, a ray of sunlight illuminated a newspaper page on the table. It showed Aden walking down the street, casually floating a rock above his hand.
(Well, the plot thickens. Everything is not as it seems, and the things we thought we knew seem to be shrouded in mystery. What is Aden's true power, and what will happen now?)
