Chapter 58 - Chapter:58

"Satoshi, it's me! I need to ask Professor Oak about something… wait, who are you?"

Satoshi activated the Pokémon Center's communicator, expecting Professor Oak, but instead, a woman appeared on the screen.

She had long brown hair, wore a light green sweater under a white lab coat, and radiated an air of intellectual beauty.

"Hello, I'm Daisy. Are you Satoshi? You must have something to discuss with my grandfather. Please wait; I'll call him for you."

Satoshi immediately recognized her. She was Daisy Oak, Professor Oak's granddaughter and Gary's sister. Unlike Gary, she seemed polite and approachable.

She left to fetch Professor Oak, and Satoshi and Misty waited patiently. It wasn't long before a familiar voice rang out.

"Satoshi, you've been busy! Gary mentioned yesterday that you were in Pewter City, and now you're already at Mt. Moon?"

Professor Oak's cheerful face filled the screen.

"I've just been moving quickly," Satoshi replied with a chuckle. "Professor, I need your advice on something important."

Without wasting time, Satoshi explained Misty's situation, including the stolen Gyarados and its violent behavior.

"A stolen Pokémon turned violent, you say?"

Professor Oak's expression darkened as he processed the details.

After a moment of thought, he spoke gravely. "Satoshi, Pokémon thefts of this kind are uncommon. Most thieves avoid stealing from Trainers to avoid retaliation. But there's one organization notorious for such activities."

"Who are they?" Misty demanded, her anger boiling over.

Professor Oak sighed deeply. "They're called Team Rocket, the largest underground organization in the Kanto Region. They traffic Pokémon, conduct inhumane experiments, and use them for nefarious purposes."

Misty's fists clenched as she realized the extent of Team Rocket's crimes. "So my Gyarados was likely one of their experiments," she said, her voice trembling with fury.

Satoshi remained calm, though inwardly he was lamenting how much worse Team Rocket's actions really were compared to what Oak had described. But for now, the simplified explanation was enough.

"Professor, do you know where they might be operating right now?" Misty asked, her determination burning brightly.

Oak hesitated before answering. "They're a dangerous organization, Misty. I'd advise against provoking them, but I doubt anything I say will dissuade you."

After a brief pause, he added, "I've recently received word that Team Rocket is searching for Moon Stones in the caves of Mt. Moon. They likely plan to sell them at auction or use them to strengthen their Pokémon. If you insist on confronting them, start there."

Misty nodded resolutely. "Thank you, Professor Oak. I won't let them get away with this."

Oak's expression softened as he offered a final piece of advice. "Do what you can, but prioritize your safety above all else. It's better to retreat and fight another day than to risk your life needlessly."

Satoshi silently gave Professor Oak a thumbs-up in his mind. The advice aligned perfectly with his own thoughts. If things escalated, he would persuade Misty to withdraw.

The task was simple: find and identify the thieves. Satoshi already knew it was Team Rocket and even remembered the layout of their operation in Mt. Moon. However, he had no intention of recklessly engaging their executives unless absolutely necessary.

After thanking Professor Oak, Satoshi transferred the morning's captured Pokémon to Oak's lab for safekeeping. Oak shared a few more words of caution before ending the call.

With the call over, Satoshi and Misty exchanged determined glances.

"Let's go," Satoshi said.

Together, they left the Pokémon Center and headed toward the caves of Mt. Moon, ready to uncover Team Rocket's operation and reclaim what had been stolen.
