The sun shines bright in the sky,the leaves of the tree acting as a shield to Zade and Isla from its scorching heat. They walked side by side, their steps slow and measured as they continued to venture into the woods,not saying a word to each other.
She was already regretting agreeing to walk with him. She felt awkward moving beside him. She wondered what he was doing in this part of the pack when there's so many beautiful places to walk around.
The woods were eerily quiet except from the low sound of toads croaking and squirrels running around on the dry leaves. She wanted to at least say something to ease the growing awkwardness in the air. His presence was so commanding and domineering but it was also surprisingly…comforting.
Something about him felt so familiar. Like she had met him before but she couldn't remember.
Finally he spoke up,his deep voice breaking the silence.
"What are you?"
