She drove her elbow into his ribs, forcing a grunt from his lips.
He retaliated, shoving her off with brutal strength. Emily rolled, barely dodging a vicious kick, and scrambled to her feet.
Hale was already moving, reaching for his weapon.
Emily lunged.
Her shoulder slammed into him, sending them both crashing into a metal table.
It overturned, scattering documents and a sleek black pistol across the floor.
Emily dove for it, but Hale was faster he kicked it away, sending it clattering into the shadows.
"You're running out of moves, Emily," he panted, blood trickling from a cut above his eye.
"Then I'll make one more count," she shot back.
