"The S rank Assault Tournament is going to start soon." Mr Newton was the announcer, their teacher everyone was there. It was the most popular of the Tournament; the first S class, the strongest class, was getting ready to match down.
The battles had not been announced until minutes before; that's when Mr Newton stood u,p, and there was a lottery machine. It was perfect; the 16 strongest had been selected; however, there were only 15 balls, something they would not have noticed.
"Tommy told me Mr Newton say the matches were going to be 1st and 16th and 2nd and 15th and so on and so forth?" Jasmine said, and then Rebecca responded, "Yeah, that's what Tommy told me. He might have switched it up to make it more exciting." There were hundreds of people bored out of their minds, ready to see a spectacle.
He drew, the number 1 and number 5. The jumbotron lit up as it revealed who was the matchup, "Thomas Dale vs Deion Hartwell." Mr Newton yelled wanting his star student to fight and win it all. There were a brief 30 seconds of highlights of Thomas at his national finals, which he lost, and two regional series, which he also lost.
The crowd cheered as Thomas stepped out of the tunnel and walked into the arena. Then, there was a brief 20-second highlight of Deion before he walked out. The crowd was lukewarm towards him.
The referee then walked onto the stage, "Today, we have the assault Tournament of the first S class. No killing intent, weapons are legal, no armour, violation of these rules will result in disqualification. This is a 10-minute match; the clock will start when the match does. Stepping out or landing out of bounds will disqualify you. The only protected part of your body is the back of your head. If there's no victor by 10 minutes, our judges will decide the victor. Knockouts will end the fight."
