Without a study room, Zheng Fa simply set up a small dining table in the courtyard to write on.
Younger sister Zheng Shan, wearing new clothes made by Mrs. Zheng, was running around in the yard.
She didn't dare disturb her brother, so she could only run around the courtyard, at times pulling at the grass in the corner of the wall, or picking up a stone and scrawling on the ground, with her little head occasionally glancing in Zheng Fa's direction.
Not until Zheng Fa lifted his head.
"Big brother! Have you finished writing?" Zheng Shan ran over with a pitter-patter, pulling on Zheng Fa's sleeve and peering curiously up at the table on her tiptoes.
Inside the house, Mrs. Zheng, still busy at the loom, spoke up, "Shan'er, don't disturb your brother reading."
Zheng Shan pouted but obediently let go of Zheng Fa's sleeve.
"Mom, it's okay, this is for our little sister," Zheng Fa said with a smile, pinching his sister's cheek.
"For me? Can I read?"
