Zheng Fa, along with Tang Lingwu and her mother, sat at the table.
The dishes on the table were not lavish, and they didn't even look refined, all being common home-cooked meals.
But Tang Lingwu seemed a little surprised: "Mom, did you cook today?"

Perhaps to show closeness, maybe even with some notion of confidentiality.

Mrs. Ye reached out and moved a plate of cola chicken wings from in front of Tang Lingwu to Zheng Fa's right side, laughing as she said: "Ling Wu loved this dish most when she was little, you try it!"
Zheng Fa looked up at Tang Lingwu.
She held chopsticks, her eyes fixated on the plate of chicken wings, her expression full of astonishment.
