Chapter 95 - Two Days

Lilia's eyes fluttered open, only to squeeze shut again as the brightness of the room overwhelmed her. A dull ache pulsed in her head, and her throat felt painfully parched. She inhaled sharply, her breath shaky as she tried to move, but a sharp sting shot through her wrist, forcing a hiss past her lips.

A drip was attached to her hand.

She blinked, adjusting to the light as her vision cleared.

This was her room at the mansion

Slowly, she tried to push herself up, her fingers weakly gripping the sheets beneath her. The effort was futile. Just as her body wavered, on the verge of collapsing back against the pillows, a large, warm hand pressed gently against her back, steadying her.

Her heart skipped a beat.

"I'm here, wife. You don't have to worry."

That voice. Deep, rich, familiar.

For a moment, she stilled, her breath caught in her throat. Slowly, she turned her gaze toward him, her golden-brown eyes widening slightly.
