After gathering everything he needed, Alden stepped out of his room.
The door clicked shut behind him, locking automatically.
With slow steps, he made his way to the elevator.
The moment he pressed the button, the doors slid open almost instantly.
Someone was already present there.
Amyra.
She stood still and composed as ever, her cold violet eyes were fixed forward.
Alden didn't hesitate and stepped in.
"Good morning," he greeted, his tone calm.
"Good morning," she responded with a small nod.
Alden noted the change.
In the past, she would have ignored him entirely, treating him as if he didn't exist.
Lately, however, she had been acknowledging him more often.
He had even caught her staring at him sometimes.
Was it the effect of that cringey line?
Or has she perhaps fallen for my handsome self?
Alden sighed internally.
I'm just overthinking things again.
