I could see it in her eyes—the desperation, the longing.
And for a second, I almost gave in.
Almost.
But then my anger surged back, stronger than anything else.
I shoved Glyndon away before she could touch me before she could do exactly what she always did—run to me when she wanted me, push me away when she got scared.
Her eyes widened in shock like she hadn't expected me to do that.
Like she thought I'd just let her have me again.
Not this time.
Not anymore.
I wrapped my towel around my body, gripping the fabric tightly as I glared at her.
"Prove it."
Her brows furrowed. "What?"
I crossed my arms. "Prove that you're worthy of me."
She inhaled sharply, blinking at me like I had just slapped her across the face.
Then, almost instantly, she squared her shoulders. "How?"
A humorless laugh left my lips.
"How?" I repeated, shaking my head. "You seriously have to ask me how?"
