"Will she ever return?"
The priest's answered, "As your lover? No. As your saviour? Yes. You will meet her again when it matters most. And on that day, you will understand the whole design. You will see where her path truly led."
Cristiano's jaw tensed, but he said nothing.
Then he asked, with a hint of bitterness, "And what about my wife? Don't tell me fate brought her to me too."
The High Priest let out a soft, knowing laugh. "No. In truth, fate wanted to take her from you. She wasn't meant to stand by your side. And yet, she came to you anyway. Walked straight into your life, defying the threads of destiny."
He leaned forward slightly, meeting Cristiano's eyes. "Your Highness, Portia exists because you do. You may push her away. You may try to ignore the connection. But the truth won't change: she was born for you. Not because fate demanded it but because she chose it."
Cristiano shook his head. "That's absurd."
