Luidic's men arrived before the Banquet the next day, and so per Emperor Tesarius's wish, the Banquet was held on the second night of Luidic's stay. During the Banquet, the envoy of Rovamer offered Tesarius gifts and tribute from their Kingdom, which Tesarius accepted graciously. Celebrations were in order, and everyone ate and drank till they no longer could.
Not once did anyone bring up the reason the envoy was here in the first place.
Try as he might, Luidic could not find a suitable time to hold an audience, private or public with the Emperor, who always excused himself with something he had to attend to. This had been going on since Luidic's arrival, and by now the young man already had a feeling the Emperor was avoiding him. And he had a feeling he knew why.
The banquet would soon come to a successful end, but for Luidic's case, his plans were still unsuccessful.
