Amy's heart dropped into her stomach.

Amy's hands were slick with sweat. Her breath shallow. Her foot pressed down on the accelerator, narrowing the gap until Quinn's car was only a few feet ahead.
She steeled herself, took a deep breath, and twisted the wheel ever so slightly.
The bump was harder than she expected. A metallic crunch pierced the night, followed by the sharp, abrupt squeal of tires. Quinn's car jerked to the side, spinning out of control before slamming against a streetlamp with a sickening force.
