Chapter 26 - Chapter 25

In the face of life and death, the soldiers desperately yanked the chains, forcibly diverting Jack's attack. But the violent force still tore through the air, and a chain whipped across Gin's face, leaving a deep bruise, slashing diagonally across his stern visage.

Gin's cold smile vanished, replaced by a grim anger. He narrowed his eyes, exuding a chilling aura, and grabbed a stun gun, his voice low and fierce,"You brainless fool!"

"Zzz—!"

A thick electric arc roared towards Jack. However, Jack suddenly reached out, grabbing a nearby soldier and using him as a shield. The arc hit the soldier, and the intense current instantly charred his body, filling the air with a pungent burnt smell.

Jack's eyes were fierce, his killing intent undiminished. This rampage had only just begun.

Gin roared, drawing a high-frequency vibrating knife from his waist, its cold light aimed at Jack. Jack charged, their clash primal and violent like beasts.

Jack's iron fist was like a cannonball, smashing into the alloy wall beside Gin, shaking the entire room. Gin nimbly dodged, the knife slicing through the air, leaving a deep wound on Jack's shoulder, causing his arm to hang limply.

"Is this all your strength?" Gin sneered, moving like a ghost.

Jack roared, his furious charge a torrent of speed and power. Gin used the battlefield's chaos and the chains' constraints to pull, dodge, and calmly seek Jack's weaknesses.

Suddenly, Jack swung forcefully, breaking the chains. A soldier was flung against the wall, the sound of bones breaking clearly audible.

"Enough!" Gin finally lost his temper, his eyes flashing dangerously. He set the stun gun to maximum power and pulled the trigger.

"Zzz—!!!"

A blinding blue-white arc struck Jack's chest. Jack trembled violently, gritting his teeth, but his steps finally faltered.

"Enough!" Gin growled, his eyes cold, and he lunged forward with a roar!

Jack's roar was like a wild beast, his still-functional iron fist tearing through the air, aiming for Gin's head.

Gin slid back like a phantom, avoiding the fatal blow. At the same time, his left hand's stun gun was ready, and his right hand's high-frequency vibrating knife struck like a viper, slicing through Jack's side.

"Zzz—!"

The stun gun pressed against the wound. The ear-piercing arc sound exploded, blue-white light roaring into Jack's body, intertwining anger and pain, tears and saliva flowing, blood and urine mixing.

"Hahaha! Come on, Jack!"

Gin laughed wildly, his eyes flashing with dangerous excitement. Jack's strength and speed surpassed this professional soldier, but his combat skills and experience were lacking.

Now, Gin closed in step by step, the stun gun continuously releasing high-voltage arcs, each one precisely hitting the black lines and buds on Jack's body.

"Zzz—! Zzz—!"

With each shock, the black buds on Jack's body trembled violently, swelling and twisting visibly.

"Strong? Hmph, you don't even know how to use it." Gin's voice was low and cold,"Let me see—what kind of beauty your 'power' can bloom into!"

The electric light struck Jack's chest again, and the black buds finally couldn't hold back.

"Rip—!"

The buds burst open like blooming black lotuses. The petals were as black as ink, exuding a decayed and eerie aura. Gin's lips curled into a cold smile, waiting for the ultimate moment of this "bloom."

"Boom—!"

The first flower exploded, the violent energy blasting a charred pit into Jack's bulletproof body. Jack roared in pain, his body crashing into distant lab equipment, smashing the precision devices to pieces.

But this was just the beginning.

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

One after another, the black buds bloomed and exploded. Each explosion tore new wounds on Jack's body and left shocking charred pits in the lab. The air was filled with the smell of burning and blood.

"What a beautiful demonic power!" Gin's smile grew more manic."Look at it, such beautiful destruction! This is the true essence of power!"

Jack struggled to get up, his body covered in wounds. The black buds bloomed one after another, each bringing excruciating pain and more intense explosions. His eyes had lost focus, but even so, his fighting instinct drove him towards Gin.

"The final blow!" Gin's voice was like a verdict.

He leaped up, the stun gun charged with the last of its energy. The blinding blue-white light condensed into a thunderous bolt, striking the largest black bud on Jack's chest.

"Boom—!!!"

This time, the explosion seemed to swallow the entire world. The lab's metal floor was blown open, leaving a deep pit several meters in diameter. Jack's body crashed to the ground, blood flowing slowly along the twisted black lines. He struggled to stand but was once again bound by sudden chains.

The soldiers swarmed, skillfully wrapping thick alloy chains around Jack. Even though his body still twitched slightly, his resistance was weak.

Jack was dragged back into the cage, the alloy chains tightly binding his limbs, securing him firmly.

The glass chamber door closed with a cold, unfeeling "click."

Gin stood in front of the glass chamber, his signature cold smile on his lips.

"What a spectacular performance." His voice was low and pleased."But this is just the beginning."

---

Darkness.

It wasn't just simple blackness but a deep, bottomless silence, as if the whole person was submerged in thick liquid, even breathing became sluggish. The surroundings were suffocatingly quiet, with only the low "drip" sound echoing in the ears, whether from water droplets falling from metal pipes or the heart twitching under invisible pressure.

Suddenly, a faint crimson light appeared, like a broken sunset, slowly swallowed by the darkness, yet stubbornly spreading its weak glow. At the end of this abyss, a blurry figure gradually emerged—was it Jack? Or some illusion trapped in a cage?

Mo Wen's consciousness seemed to be pulled by some force, falling into a hazy fog.

A distant and familiar voice sounded in his ear,"Do you know who you are?"

He opened his mouth to speak but found his throat filled with gravel, unable to make a sound. Intense unease surged in his chest, and he suddenly realized that the "father" in his memory might just be a carefully woven lie, and the real father was hidden in a world he had never touched. He tried to capture more memories, but all clues were like illusions in the fog, seemingly real yet false, making him feel more and more uneasy.

Reality pulled his thoughts back.

Mo Wen was pushed into the elevator by two mercenaries, feeling anxious like a lamb driven to the slaughterhouse. However, he tried to maintain a calm facade, pretending to be compliant, only his clenched fists betraying his inner tension.

The fluorescent lights buzzed, and the intersecting shadows silently wriggled like ghosts lurking in the darkness.

The elevator descended continuously, the red numbers jumping layer by layer, counting down the distance to the bottom of hell. In the end, he couldn't tell if the intense shaking came from the elevator's stop or his wildly beating heart.
