Chapter 55- working with my dad
Logan's POV
Something was wrong.
I could tell from the second we arrived at Tyler's dad's house. The way he moved, the way his fingers twitched, the way he refused to meet my eyes—it was all off. I knew him well enough to know when something was bothering him, but I never could have imagined that this was the reason.
Tyler was running away.
With his mom.
And he hadn't told me.
My chest tightened, a slow-burning anger curling in my stomach. I had to hear it from his own mouth.
"Can we skip the part where we both act like you aren't running away?" I said, watching him closely.
Tyler flinched but quickly covered it up, crossing his arms. "I don't understand what you're saying, Logan."
I let out a bitter chuckle, shaking my head. "Bullshit." My eyes darkened as I took a step closer, my voice dropping. "We both know you're running away. So let's not do this thing where you pretend I don't know. Be a good boy and skip to the important part."
