Mandy's face turned red with anger. She looked like she was about to explode.
"This is blackmail!" she yelled. "You can't just ask us for money like that!"
Aurora shrugged. "It's not blackmail. You hurt me. I'm just asking for what I deserve."
Zane looked down, rubbing his neck. "Man… this is bad…"
Caroline's eyes filled with tears. "Please, Aurora… can we pay less? We're sorry, okay? I didn't mean for things to get so bad…"
Aurora's face didn't change. "I already gave you a choice. I could've posted your confessions online or sent them straight to your parents and the school. But I didn't. That's me being kind."
Some kids in the class nodded.
"She's right."
"They got off easy."
"They're lucky she's not suing them!"
Mandy gritted her teeth. "Fine! You want money? You'll get it. But don't think this is over."
Aurora raised one eyebrow. "That's funny. I was about to say the same to you."
Zane looked between the two girls, then whispered, "Can I just pay and leave?"
