Silas's POV
As Van reached me and was about to say something, Shine's phone suddenly rang. My attention shifted to him as he picked up the call. I had no idea who was calling him.
"Hello? Yes, Dad. Yeah, I'm on the way. I've already arrived in our pack, and I'm heading home now. Don't worry. Yes, don't worry about me."
Just from his tone, it was clear—Shine's family had called him, telling him to come home.
And he was lying, saying he was already on the way when, in reality, he was still standing inside my house.
After hanging up, he walked over to me as well.
"Silas, I'm sorry. I have to go too. My dad just called me back."
"Don't worry, you can go. Your parents must be worried since you didn't go back home."
I understood why Shine's parents would be concerned. He had come with me to the Lupin Pack, and in that pack, there was no signal.
They must have tried calling him, but the calls wouldn't have gone through. Of course, they'd be worried.
