Chapter 53 - sorry you had to wait for so long

Three years passed by in the blink of an eye. The three years to Tai Jian had passed in the blink of an eye. After trying all methods possible he had still not given up. His hair was turning grey but he still looked like a young man. He was calm and unperturbed as if nothing could shake him. His eyes were still dark and full of visitudes just like before. To him the passing years had not lessened the pain in his heart. He had preserved Tie Hongchen's body and has not buried her." Tai Jian,you are just a coward. You watched your woman get killed and could not do anything despite knowing the person responsible. How will you explain to her on the other side? You are just a coward," a voice stated inside Tai Jian. Most people thought that Tai Jian had isolates himself for so many years so as to escape from reality but not many knew that Tai Jian had made this decision because he was afraid. Not that he was afraid of anyone rather he feared himself. The voice speaking to him is his inner demon. He knew the consequences of letting his inner demon control him. He didn't want to start a massacre because he knew that Tie Hongchen would not love him to fall deeper into this abyss because of her but only Tai Jian knew that he did not belong to the light. The light that she had shone in his life was so blinding and bright that it made him want to stay in the light but sadly it was only for a short time before all hope was lost and then he was forced to carry her dead body. All of her wounds had been healed and she had regained her former flawless skin but she was already dead. Tai Jian had already lost his purpose of living but he wanted to make one final attempt and see if there was any hope left. Besides he had sensed a strong vitality emanating from Tie Hongchen and this was what gave him hope to continue living. This was also the reason why he chose not to bury Tie Hongchen. If one were to look at Tai Jian's legs,one would find that they were shackled. Tai Jian had used some special chains so as to bind him to this mansion so that whenever his inner demon tried controlling him he would never be able to leave. A few days ago the vitality coming from Tie Hongchen's body had become stronger and Tai Jian could feel it. What he didn't know was that the vitality was caused by Feng Jiu. When she arrived she found that Tai Jian had lost all hope so she had to give him a reason to live so she carefully examined Tie Hongchen's body and found that she was pregnant so she used a special skill to maintain the pregnancy. The baby had been nourished by her phoenix blood which was why the baby had yet to be born. A month passed by and finally a cry of a baby filled the house. For the first time in three years a smile appeared on Tai Jian's face. The smile was pure and genuine that even Feng Jiu who was hiding in the shadows found herself dazed by it. She had been looking after Tai Jian for three years and yet she had never seen him even try to squeeze a smile. He was always expressionless. There was no tears in his eyes during these years. She had forgotten how many times he had tried to take his life but all ended in failure. She always found a way to stop him. She had watched him fight against his inner demons and when he could no longer fight against them she watched him tie himself to a seat and chain his hands,neck and legs. To many people three years had passed but to Tai Jian it was nothing more than endless days of pain and torture. Right now he only chained his legs which meant that his inner demons were now under his control but still he didn't want to take any risk. Tai Jian lifted the child in his arms and for the first time in three years he opened the door to his mansion. Tai Jian's hair was dishevelled and not many people could recognise him. He beards had long outgrown. Holding the child in his arms Tai Jian closed his eyes. He did not take the last step out of the mansion." Tai Jian, do you think that you can get rid of me? I am apart of you so you can forget about ever getting rid of me. You are still a coward as always," Tai Jian's inner demon said. At this moment it was severely weakened as compared to before. Tai Jian did not try to engage in a conversation with it rather he stared at it expressionlessly as if he was staring at a small fly." It is time you learn that my body is mine," Tai Jian said. His meaning was obvious. After three years of silence this was the first time Tai Jian spoke to it. It has always been used to Tai Jian's indifference but today it was different. Something about Tai Jian seemed different today and he couldn't pinpoint what it was. Tai Jian appeared before it. They were now facing each other in Tai Jian's consciousness and Tai Jian was determined to get rid of his inner demons. Tai Jian held it by its neck and carried it weightlessly as if he was lifting a feather." I could've gotten rid of you many years ago if not for the fact that you were useful," Tai Jian said as he twisted its neck in an unnatural angle. The last bit of his inner demons slowly disintegrated and disappeared until he remained clear headed. Tai Jian felt at ease at this moment. He finally took the last step and decisively walked out of the mansion. After taking this last step Tai Jian seemed to have become a different person. Xue Kai was still standing guard outside the mansion. He had been guarding this place for the last three years. Tai Jian turned around and stared at this mansion that he had been living in for the last three years. At that moment he seemed to have seen an image of Tie Hongchen waving at him while smiling. Tai Jian smiled back and subconsciously reached out his hand in an attempt to hold her but she disappeared before his hands could even get to her. Tai Jian calmly smiled for a while before he closed the doors. He made sure to leave the mechanisms open and did not close any of them as Tie Hongchen's body was still inside. As long as her body was inside Tai Jian was sure that it would be well preserved and moreover no one could intrude upon this place due to the mechanisations. Only Tai Jian was able to enter and exit as he wished as he was already used to the mechanisms inside and only he knew how to crack them as most of them had been set by him." Xue Kai, sorry you had to wait for so long," Tai Jian said as he patted Xue Kai's shoulders. Xue Kai only smiled at this. He has been guarding this place for three years and he has never seen Tai Jian during these three years so he was happy when he saw him even though he looked completely dishevelled and very different. His eyes were no longer as sharp as before but they were calm and filled with a sense of maturity that was completely different from before." As long as you are fine master," Xue Kai said. This was what he felt. To him Tai Jian had given him everything so wherever Tai Jian was that was where he will forever reside.
