Raymond words hung in the air, it was like a silent challenge.
Maria scoffed loudly, breaking the tension with a dramatic laugh. "Oh, please! What do you think you're going to do?" she sneered, turning to Chloe for support. "Who do you even know? What power do you even have? You think just because you put on a nice clothes and talk big, you can change reality?"
Immediately Chloe joined in, her voice laced with mockery.
"Exactly. You act like you're someone important, but you're nothing. And you—" She turned to Valentina with an exaggerated frown. "You're letting this man embarrass you in public? How pathetic."
However Liam, arms crossed, smirked in amusement.
"I'll admit," he said lazily, "you've got confidence, Raymond. But confidence without power?" He shook his head. "That's just embarrassing."
Raymond remained still, unfazed, his lips curling into something close to a smirk.
"You all see soon enough," he said simply.
