Chapter 59 - The Pizza Nightmare Begins & Ends

The cold corridors of Root Headquarters echoed with the measured, deliberate footsteps of Danzo Shimura. The air, usually sterile and controlled, now felt thick—almost oppressive. The Sharingan implanted in his arm pulsed with latent energy, a reminder of the success he believed he had secured from the ashes of the Uchiha Clan.

But beneath that triumph, something was wrong.

Danzo had dismissed the earlier anomalies as mere side effects of the implantation process. A slight headache here, a flicker of distorted vision there. It was nothing, he assured himself.

Until it wasn't.

That night, Danzo awoke in a cold sweat, his breath ragged and uneven. The dim candlelight flickered in his private chambers, casting long, twisting shadows on the walls. But it wasn't the shadows that made his heart race.

It was the figure in the corner.

At first, it was nothing more than a dark shape—indistinct, silent. But as Danzo's eye adjusted, the figure began to take form.

It was a pizza.

Not just any pizza. A massive, grotesque slice, its cheese oozing like molten lava, its pepperoni eyes glowing an eerie red. The scent of baked dough and tomato sauce was suffocating, wrapping around Danzo like a noose.

"You have incurred the wrath of the Sage of Six Slices!" the pizza beast roared, its voice a bubbling, sizzling concoction of cheese and sauce.

Danzo scrambled backward, his pulse pounding in his ears. He reached for a kunai, his fingers trembling as he hurled it at the monstrosity.

The kunai struck the wall with a dull thud.

The pizza was gone.

Danzo sat there, gasping for air, his mind racing. He wiped the sweat from his brow, trying to rationalize what had just happened.

"It's a dream," he whispered, though the words felt hollow. "Just a dream."

But deep down, he knew it was more than that.

The following day, Danzo stalked through the Root training grounds, his sharp gaze scrutinizing every operative in sight. The agents moved with their usual precision, executing drills with mechanical efficiency. But Danzo saw something else.

In the corners of his vision, he caught glimpses of pepperoni spirals spinning lazily in their Sharingan. The shadows beneath the training dummies seemed to stretch into cheese-like tendrils, writhing toward him.

"Focus!" Danzo barked, his voice sharper than usual.

The operatives froze mid-drill, exchanging uneasy glances. Danzo's erratic behavior had become impossible to ignore. His gaze darted to empty corners, his hand hovered near his weapon as if expecting an attack from thin air.

One of the higher-ranking operatives, emboldened by concern, stepped forward. "Sir… are you feeling alright?"

Danzo's glare was icy. "Do not question me."

The operative snapped back into position, but the whispers began as soon as Danzo's back was turned. Strange things were happening. Visual distortions, fleeting glimpses of melting cheese in the corners of their eyes, and an unsettling aroma of marinara that clung to their uniforms.

Some began to wonder if they were cursed.

The final straw came during a strategy meeting with his top operatives. They gathered in the dimly lit Root strategy room, maps of Konoha spread across the table. They were discussing the next phase of Root's operations, but Danzo couldn't concentrate.

As he leaned over the maps, the lines began to shift.

The streets of Konoha morphed into slices of pizza, the buildings transforming into pepperoni toppings. The operatives seated around the table began to melt, their faces stretching into grotesque smiles as they morphed into pizza chefs, complete with aprons and oversized pizza cutters.

"Sir," one of the operatives asked cautiously, unaware of the hallucination, "what are your orders?"

But Danzo wasn't listening. All he saw were cheese-dripping monsters closing in on him.

"You think you can fool me?" Danzo snarled, his voice a low growl. "I will not fall to the likes of you!"

With a sudden, violent motion, Danzo overturned the table, scattering maps and documents across the floor. The operatives jumped back in shock as Danzo drew a kunai and lunged at the nearest agent, who barely managed to dodge the unexpected attack.

"Sir!" the operative cried out, "What are you—?"

Danzo's single eye blazed with fury. "You're all puppets of the Sage of Six Slices!"

The operatives were forced to restrain their leader, though none dared question him directly. They exchanged fearful glances, whispering of curses and madness. Their once-unshakeable commander had become a shadow of himself, haunted by visions of pizza monsters and phantom threats.

High above Konoha, perched on the familiar rooftop of The Crusty Kunai, Raven Kamizuki lounged with a slice of pizza in hand, savoring every bite like it was a victory feast. Beside her, Yuumi purred with amusement, her tails flicking lazily as she listened to the latest report from their network of spies.

"So," Yuumi began, licking her lips, "Danzo thinks his own operatives are pizza chefs now?"

Raven chuckled, her violet Rinnegan eyes gleaming with satisfaction. "I told you, Yuumi. The Sage of Six Slices is no joke."

Yuumi burst into laughter, nearly falling off the rooftop. "I can't believe he actually fell for it. All those years of paranoia and scheming, and a little mozzarella sends him over the edge."

Raven leaned back, her grin widening. "It's not just the mozzarella. It's the principle. Danzo thought he could control everything. Now he can't even control his own mind."

They sat in comfortable silence for a moment, the village below bathed in the soft glow of the evening lanterns. But beneath that peaceful facade, chaos brewed in the shadows.

"Konoha thinks they've rid themselves of the Uchiha threat," Raven murmured, her eyes narrowing. "But they've only replaced it with something worse."

Yuumi arched an eyebrow, a smirk tugging at her lips. "You?"

Raven's grin turned wicked. "Exactly."

Danzo's paranoia had reached its peak. The pizza-themed hallucinations plagued him day and night, and his grip on reality was slipping. The once-mighty leader of Root was now a prisoner of his own mind, tormented by the very power he sought to control. Raven eventually had no choice but to release Danzo from his torment. A joke was one thing, but she did not want to destabilize Konoha too much her future plans depend on that fool and the third Hokage.

Besides, Raven knew that Danzo would be forever torn between his secret love of pizza and his irrational fear of it a perfect combination.

Meanwhile, Raven's influence continued to grow. Her network within Konoha expanded, and her revolution gained momentum. She knew that Danzo's downfall was just the beginning.

The Sage of Six Slices had tasted victory, and soon, the entire village would feel the heat of the pizza-fueled revolution.
