Lidia was still standing proudly on the table, arms crossed like a war general surveying a battlefield, when she continued her speech. "We have to restock anyway. So we don't mind sparing at least two days of our time."
She nodded to herself, pleased with her logic. Two days! That was plenty of time.
The knight, however, gave no response. He didn't even look at her.
Lidia frowned.
Despite his good looks, she was starting to dislike him.
The elder, still visibly shaken from her earlier dramatic outburst, stepped forward, his frail hands wringing together. His eyes, though aged and weary, carried a deep gratitude.
"I don't know how to thank you—"
"Coins!" Lidia cut in immediately.
The elder's mouth hung open.
The villagers, who had been murmuring amongst themselves, stilled.
The knight, standing a few feet away, closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose.
