The biggest variable was undoubtedly Tina. Everyone knew Ryan had been her devoted follower for three years.
He was always at her beck and call, doing any menial task she asked. His loyalty to her was unmatched.
In this situation, if Tina could snatch him away with just one phone call, Abigail's worries weren't unfounded.
