Ubaya shook her head, took the beer and said, "There's a package coming, go pick it up."
This was obviously the rhythm of sending Abigail away for a private interrogation. Abigail agreed knowingly and said, "I'll buy something on the way."
Abigail left, and Ryan and Ubaya went upstairs together. As a single man and a single woman, there was no sense of excitement or ambiguity. Instead, there was a sense of nervousness as if they were meeting their parents for the first time.
Especially when eating, Ubaya seemed very satisfied, but the suspicion in her eyes made Ryan wonder what she was doubting about.
"Please sit anywhere. Abigail and I usually stay indoors. It's the first time we have guests at home, so there's nothing much to greet."
There wasn't even a sofa in the living room, so Ubaya laid out a plastic mat and poured some water in a disposable bowl for Ryan to use as an ashtray.
