MAXIM'S POV
I was out of my mind as I replayed everything that the Elders had said earlier on. I didn't know what to make of it. I tried to understand where I went wrong and how I could escape this new decision.
If they knew she was human, why did they still force me to marry her? A human at that. What would my enemies and business partners think? That I, Alpha Maxim, settled down with a mere human? I was going to be perceived as weak and of a low class amongst the others.
If my pack and the other packs found out she was human, it was going to be over for me. The Dragoni Pack already had a hunch of who she was and what she was. If they got any information of her being human, there was going to be a wide spread of news amongst the packs.
Which meant one thing, I had to do everything possible to make sure the ritual worked, even if the ritual was too intimate for my liking.
