Chapter 2 - The Establishment of the Gotei 13

Now, Yamabuki and Yamamoto are sitting there roasting sweet potatoes.

"Reduce All Creation to Ash, Ryūjin Jakka"

You could see Yamamoto skilfully inserting two sweet potatoes on top of Ryūjin Jakka and after the release of his zanpakutō, flickering flames danced on Ryūjin Jakka, filling the cave with the aroma of roasted sweet potatoes.

' This ability is just too convenient! It's a must-have for home and travel! ' Yamabuki thought.

"Since I've already joined the organization, can I retire now? This is very important to me." Yamabuki addressed the matter directly.

However, a thousand years ago, there was no such word as "retirement." Yamamoto looked curious and asked, "What does retirement mean?"

"Just taking the money without doing any work..."

"That's not possible." Yamamoto ruthlessly rejected Yamabuki. He had barely managed to rope in someone to help him, and now they wanted to take the money without doing any work. Do I look like I have money? If I had money, would I be here roasting sweet potatoes with you?

"I know, retiring right after starting a job is a bit unreasonable. How about this: why don't you introduce the current members of the Gotei 13 to me?" Yamabuki said.

The first anime he came into contact with was "Bleach," so he was very familiar with the plot of the Shinigamis. However, when the timeline suddenly shifted back a thousand years, he found it a bit hard to adjust.

What major events happened a thousand years ago?

The establishment of the Gotei 13 marked the emergence of the most formidable generation. A fierce battle between the Quincy and the Shinigami ensued.

The omniscient and omnipotent Yhwach vs. the Sword Demon Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto, result: Yhwach was severely injured by Yamamoto at his peak and fell into a coma for a thousand years.

In other words, as long as I join the Gotei 13, I'll definitely win effortlessly. Winning by doing nothing might not feel fulfilling, but I can't help but like it!

Yamamoto, upon hearing Yamabuki 's question, very seriously extended a finger, pointed at himself, and then pointed at Yamabuki "Currently, our manpower has doubled, from one to two. I believe that in the future, more people will join the Gotei 13."

So you've been getting something for nothing all this time?

Yamamoto continued, "In my vision, the Gotei 13 has a total of thirteen captains. You can choose any one of them!"

Yamabuki smirked. Really handing me the position of team leader. You're really generous!

However, don't forget what my ultimate goal is!

I'm just trying to get by until retirement. Before long, Yhwach will come to Seireitei. As the captain of the Gotei 13, I'll definitely be on the front lines. Those are a bunch of complete lunatics! I want to keep my life and earn my salary. I don't want to go crazy with you all!

"Let's skip the captain position; I'll just be your vice-captain," Yamabuki said.

"Vice-captain?" Perhaps this role hadn't been part of Yamamoto's original plan, which took him by surprise.

"Each captain has a deputy under them, who can issue orders in place of the captain when the captain is not present."

"Mm! Not bad; since you put it that way, you can be my vice-captain for now! I've finished roasting the sweet potatoes; let's share a meal. After we finish eating, we have important matters to attend to." Yamamoto tossed over a roasted sweet potato.

These past few days, Yamabuki has been relying on absorbing the spiritual energy around him to replenish his strength. Today, he finally managed to get something to eat.

"Where are we going after we finish eating?" Yamabuki asked.

"Keep gathering people; I already have the next target. After we finish eating, let's go to Seireitei," Yamamoto said.

As soon as he heard they were going to the Seireitei, Yamabuki quickly perked up and finished the sweet potatoes in just a few bites.

Seeing how much Yamabuki was enjoying the food, Yamamoto gave him his own sweet potato as well.

"You haven't eaten in a long time, have you? Eat more, eat until you're full," Yamamoto said.

Yamabuki felt a bit moved; this old man was quite nice to his subordinates. Besides, as a young man, one sweet potato was indeed not enough to fill him up.

"Then I won't be polite!"

Once they had consumed enough food and drink, the two embarked on their journey to the Seireitei.

Thirty minutes later, the two people arrived at Seireitei. Yamabuki never expected that Seireitei was so close, yet he couldn't find the way to Seireitei! At this time, the Seireitei was very different from a thousand years later. A thousand years later, the Seireitei was surrounded by a high wall, and there was a powerful barrier above to prevent enemies from intruding.

But now, where are the high walls? You can see inside at a glance, and occasionally you can see teams of armed guards patrolling around. According to Yamamoto's explanation, those are the noble's guards, specifically tasked with protecting the safety of the nobles.

Of course, even among nobles, there are differences in status. The five major noble families live in the very center of Seireitei, while those of lower status live further out. If a riot occurs, these lower-ranking nobles must risk their lives to protect the higher-ranking nobles; otherwise, their noble status will be stripped away.

Looking at the prosperous Seireitei and then turning back to see the slum-like Rukongai, Yamabuki let out a cold laugh. Being well-versed in the plot, he certainly knows what kind of people these nobles are—just a bunch of trash.

Of course, we can't just dismiss everything outright; the "trash" here mainly refers to the Tsunayashiro family. As for the other noble families, they have more or less produced a few outstanding individuals.

For example, there is Byakuya from the Kuchiki family. Yoruichi is a member of the Shihōin family. Ichigo from the Shiba clan.

Only this Tsunayashiro family is complete trash, although not scary, they are disgusting!

"Is it really okay for us to just walk in like this? They won't draw their swords and attack us, will they?" Yamabuki asked.

"Why be afraid with me around! Let's go!" Yamamoto swaggered in with Yamabuki.

As a result, I hadn't even taken ten steps before someone stopped them.

"What are you doing? Stop! You filthy scum from Rukongai. Do you think you can enter Seireitei? Get out of here immediately, or I'll chop you up!" A noble's guard shouted, drawing his sword.

Yamamoto looked at him and said " Yamabuki as the leader, I can't do everything myself. Leave this kind of thing to you! Go!"

Huh

Yamabuki had his head full of question marks?

So your solution is to just barge in directly? And you want me to barge in too? Is it really okay to follow a boss like this? If it weren't for my retirement plan, I'd be out of here right now! However, I believe that with my current strength, handling these small fries shouldn't pose a problem.

With those thoughts, Yamabuki stepped forward, and the Reiatsu on his body erupted instantly!

A low Reiatsu Shinigami facing a high Reiatsu Shinigami will feel an immense sense of oppression, just like an ordinary pirate facing the Conqueror's Haki!

Old Yamamoto can render a vice-captain-level Shinigami powerless in battle, even without exerting any effort. For ordinary members, a vice-captain is already an insurmountable peak!

So, facing the vice-captain-level Reiatsu unleashed by Yamabuki, these ordinary henchmen fell to the ground in disarray!
