The shrill ring of the hotel phone startled me awake. Blinking against the dim morning light filtering through the curtains, I groggily reached for it.
"Miss Lily Martinez?" The receptionist's voice came through, professional and composed, cutting through the quiet of my hotel room.
I coughed, still sleepy. "Yes?"
"You have a visitor in the lobby."
A visitor? My heart skipped a beat. I sat up straight, rubbing the sleep from my eyes. "Who is it?"
"A Mr. Daniel Park."
Daniel? I tightened my hold on the phone as I sat up a bit straighter. How did he know I wasn't at the lab? My mind reeled as I pulled back the sheets, my heart racing.
