A storm brewed in Levon's heart as rumbles churned in his belly.
Who?—This question went on replay in his mind in a loop.

He could hear it… the strange unsteady footsteps echoing down the hallway.
It was growing increasingly louder and more ominous with each passing second.
Levon's instincts kicked in, as did Shugo's.
"Buddy, you hear that?" Shugo asked, his voice low and alert.
"Yeah," Levon nodded, his senses heightened. "Something's not right. It doesn't sound–"
BAM!
Before they could react further, the door was violently kicked open, slamming against the wall with a resounding crash.
"GHOULS!"
The duo came face to face with the grotesque creatures that stood in their doorway, bathed with the moonlight from the windows.
Their eyes gleamed with predatory hunger, and the corners of their rotting mouths dripped with thick overflowing saliva.
