Malvoria's sword clashed against her opponent's, the sharp clang of steel ringing through the training yard.
She liked training days. It kept her mind focused, her body sharp, and most importantly—

At least, it should have. But today?
Her mind was not cooperating.
She had barely been back from her mission for a full day, and already she was being dragged into another mess—this time, one that involved her own soldiers getting kidnapped alongside her wife.
The absolute incompetence. With a sharp twist, she disarmed her opponent, sending his sword clattering to the ground.
The soldier, still panting, barely had time to straighten before Malvoria turned to the rest of them.
"Now," she said, sheathing her blade. "Someone explain to me how the hells you all managed to get kidnapped alongside my wife."
A few of them shifted awkwardly.
