The crowd was silent as the first group left.
Three brothers, all warriors. Their mother was a former pack doctor broken by her husband's death.
Helena stood and watched as doubt crept through the crowd.
No one moved.
No one wanted to announce that they were willing to swear their loyalty to the Blackmoon pack or if they wanted to leave.
Helena knew she had to do something, if not as Romeo's girlfriend then as his ally as the Alpha Heir of Stonehill.
"We will be fair," Helena said as she spoke up.
The attention of the crowd shifted to her as she took a step forward, standing right next to Romeo.
"You're the she-wolf that wants be his mate, of course you'll speak for him," someone, an old man in the crowd, scoffed as he glared at Helena.
"I'd watch my tongue when speaking to her if I were you," Kade growled. "She's—"
Helena raised her hand, stopping Kade from speaking midsentence.
