Helena had half the thought to run.
She'd considered making the sprint from the temple to the packhouse and out of the Blackmoon territory, but she knew she couldn't outrun Romeo. Especially now that he'd gotten the confirmation he'd been waiting for.
'We've known for a while,' Hera said as Helena looked down at her hands.
Things moved quickly as Romeo pulled her into his arms and kissed her.
All her doubts and hesitation vanished as soon as his lips came crashing into hers.
Before tonight, she found comfort and peace in his arms, but as he engulfed her in his large frame, it felt like more. It felt like she was home.
"Finally," Romeo sighed as their lips parted.
'Mate,' Hera purred in her head, giving her the confirmation she didn't need to hear.
"I told you we were mates," Romeo teased her as he kissed her again, this time pressing a chaste kiss on her lips.
"I know," she said, doing her best to smile.
She was a whirlwind of emotions, unsure of what to feel.
