Chapter 137 - Chapter 137: Kurenai Yuhi’s Gratitude

The two Pokémon moved swiftly, appearing beside the two giant snakes in the blink of an eye.

Before the serpents' attacks could land, the Pokémon struck first.

Boom!

This attack was far stronger than anything the previous three Pokémon had managed.

One of the snakes was sent flying by Teddiursa's powerful strike, crashing into the ground with enough force to crack the earth beneath it.

The other one had it even worse—its massive body was bitten clean through, its bones snapping audibly before being thrown aside by the newly arrived Raticate.

The sight left the two trainers who had been panicking just moments ago completely stunned.

Realizing who had arrived, they turned in surprise.

"Old Feng? Feng Tian? You two are here?"

Old Feng and Feng Tian nodded, greeting them briefly before refocusing on the battle.

Although both snakes had suffered serious injuries, they were still alive.

"Sssss—"

The two wounded serpents let out agonized hisses, their eyes growing even colder and more vicious.

"Teddiursa, move in and use Lick!"

Feng Tian issued his command without hesitation.

"Teddi—"

Teddiursa nodded firmly, its small legs moving rapidly as it dashed toward the snake it had just sent flying.

The serpent, though injured, noticed Teddiursa's approach and immediately bared its fangs, eyes filled with caution.

However, Teddiursa paid no mind to the threat, closing the distance in an instant.

Seeing this, the snake launched a sudden counterattack, its head darting forward like a whip.

Teddiursa sidestepped skillfully, evading the strike before swiftly turning back and landing a Lick attack.

The snake trembled violently, its gaze flickering with confusion.

It couldn't understand—Teddiursa's attack had seemed so insignificant, yet its body refused to respond properly.

"Nice job, Teddiursa!"

Feng Tian grinned.

"Now follow up with Fury Swipes—aim for its head! Then finish it with Surprise Attack!"

"Teddi—!"

With another determined nod, Teddiursa leaped at the immobilized snake.

The serpent's eyes widened in horror as sharp claws slashed across its face.

Slash!

Deep gashes appeared across its head, blood trickling down from the wounds.

Teddiursa didn't stop.

With precise and relentless strikes, it clawed the snake four more times, each attack tearing through its scaly flesh.

When Teddiursa finally paused, the snake's face was completely covered in deep, bloody wounds.

Then, with a powerful leap, Teddiursa raised its paw—

And slammed it down with full force.

SMACK!

The snake was sent flying once more, its massive body crashing into the ground with a thunderous impact.

It twitched violently, then fell completely still.

The battle was over.

"Well done, Teddiursa. Come back."

Feng Tian smiled as he took out an Energy Cube as a reward.

But just as he did, the remaining giant snake started to panic.

It slithered backward, its body trembling with fear.

It wanted to run away.

Old Feng noticed and frowned slightly.

"Raticate, don't let it escape. You think you can just leave now?"

"Raaa!"

Raticate nodded and dashed forward, cutting off the serpent's retreat.

"Sssss!"

The snake stared at Raticate warily, its body tensing as it slowly backed away.

It no longer underestimated this small creature.

The pain radiating from its wounds reminded it who had inflicted them.

"Raticate, focus your energy, then hit it with Feint Attack!"

Old Feng's command was given without hesitation.

Raticate took a deep breath, its eyes sharpening as it prepared to strike.

The snake, sensing danger, immediately turned to flee.

But Raticate wouldn't allow it.

With explosive speed, it raced forward, appearing right beside the serpent in an instant.

Then, with gleaming fangs, it sank its teeth deep into the snake's body.

Another spurt of blood splashed across the battlefield.

The snake let out a final, agonized hiss, its body thrashing wildly.

"Raticate, finish it. Crunch!"

"Raaa—!"

Raticate bit down once more, its powerful jaws crushing the snake's skull.

The final serpent collapsed, motionless.

With the battle over, the trainers of Butterfree, Beedrill, and the first Raticate gazed at Old Feng and Feng Tian with eyes full of admiration.

But the two didn't linger.

Retrieving their Pokémon, they turned back to the others.

"Alright, let's go see where else we're needed. Take care of yourselves."

With that, they walked away, leaving behind awe-struck figures watching their backs.

The three remaining trainers exchanged glances before one of them spoke.

"Let's go help as well. We need to show these invaders that even Konoha's ordinary citizens aren't so easily bullied!"

The other two nodded in agreement.

Together, they rushed off into the battlefield.

From a distance, Cynthia couldn't help but smile as she watched the scene unfold.

She wondered if Ryo would feel proud and satisfied seeing this moment.

After all, he had gone through so much hardship to bring Pokémon to ordinary people.

Whoosh—

"Garchomp!"

Suddenly, a sound from behind startled Cynthia. Her Garchomp turned its head sharply, eyes filled with vigilance.

Hearing Garchomp's alert, Cynthia turned around. Upon recognizing the approaching figure, her expression brightened with joy.

"Kurenai, what are you doing here?"

Kurenai Yuhi didn't answer immediately. Instead, she looked toward the direction where the trainers had just left, a thoughtful expression on her face.

"Cynthia, Konoha really owes you all a big thank you. If not for these Pokémon, we would have suffered heavy casualties in this invasion."

On her way here, she had seen many similar situations—ordinary citizens, with Pokémon by their sides, stepping up to protect their home.

Cynthia shook her head. "You don't need to thank me. You should be thanking Ryo."

Kurenai nodded in agreement. "You're right. We really owe him a lot."

Then, she turned back to Cynthia. "By the way, I never told you why I was here."

Cynthia looked at her with curiosity. "So? What brings you here?"

"I need Ryo's help."

Cynthia raised an eyebrow. "Help? From Ryo?"

Kurenai nodded and quickly explained the situation regarding Hiruzen Sarutobi.

Hearing this, Cynthia frowned slightly.

"What's wrong?"

Kurenai noticed Cynthia's expression and asked with concern.

Cynthia shook her head. "I don't know where Ryo went either. He told me to find a safe place, then left."

Kurenai's expression grew tense. "Not even you know where he is?"
